If you were fortunate enough to be around the Internet back in the 90's, the days of the Internet's Wild West phase, you would have known of the origins of Napster. Napster was the original music file-sharing service that started it all back when boundary lines were being drawn, legal precedents set and freedom to do about anything on the net was being challenged. Downloaded, new documentary to be presented at the SXSW film festival will relive those early days when Napster ruled the digital music scene.
"There was no ramp up. There was no transition. It was like that famous shot from 2001: A Space Odyssey, when the prehistoric monkey throws a bone in the air and it turns into a spaceship. Napster was a ridiculous leap forward."

Google Releases Chrome 25 Stable Version

New Windows Blue Screenshots Show IE11
The release of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 10 is right around the corner and now the focus is turning to IE 11, which is beginning to make random leaked appearances alongside a few Windows Blue details and screenshots.
Windows Blue appears to be more of a Service Pack 1 to Windows 8 than a full-blown Windows 9. This conforms closer to previous reports that indicated Windows Blue will be a significant update to Windows 8, as opposed to a whole new operating system that would go under the name of Windows 9 or similar.

Firefox 22 Will Block Third-Party Cookies
Firefox is about to make a change in the way the browser handles third party cookies. With the release of Firefox 22, which is several versions out, all third party cookies will be blocked from installing on the user's browser. This will effectively stop advertisers from tracking the user's movements across websites.
With the patch, Firefox would allow all cookies from sites that a user actively visits, but would block cookies from third-party sites if a user has not visited that cookie's origin site.
