Adobe to Patch Reader Zero-Day This Week
Another week passes, another zero-day exploit and another Adobe rushed out emergency patch to plug the hole. This behavior is becoming the norm for Adobe products, especially in 2013. Adobe will be releasing patches for two vulnerabilities sometime this upcoming week.
In lieu of a patch, Adobe urged users to upgrade to Reader 11, then turn on "Protected View," an enhancement to the sandbox that adds additional defensive features.

Bungie Reveals Destiny: A Shared-World Shooter Bungie has finally shared some of the details of its first post-Microsoft game, Destiny. The company hasn't been too free with details up until now, are still holding some of the more important details, namely when it might be released, to themselves for now. Several details that were reported: it's a 10-year deal between Bungie and Activision, requires a constant connection to the Internet and will be released for PS3 and Xbox platforms. Mega Now Accepts Bitcoin for Services Kim Dotcom is back in his favorite position of drawing attention, making announcements and touting his new storage service, Mega. Dotcom has announced on Twitter that his cloud storage site will begin to accept Bitcoin as payment for services. It was also announced that there may be expansions into additional areas of the communication fields in the future. Mega supporting Bitcoin makes perfect sense. Basically the US is changing from a predominately first to invent system to a first to file system. Sony Applies for Patent on 'Eyepad' Game Controller Right off the bat it's a sure bet that this will go to court long before you see a working model displayed. Apple's lawyers are being roused from their Sunday morning sleep as we speak. The patent was applied for in Europe for what is described as a PlayStation Eyepad. The application says that Sony's controller contains two stereoscopic cameras that are designed to scan something that's placed on top of the device, with the idea that the object could then be translated into a virtual object in a game by being scanned by the cameras. Researchers Create Crash-Proof, Self-Repairing Computer British computer scientists have created what they are calling 'a self-repairing' computer that will not crash. Looks good on paper, but so does a crash-proof car. The scientists are also working on the inclusion of a self-coding system for the computer so it can teach itself on the fly. UCL's computer is crash-proof by virtue of mirroring nature.
