
Amazon Gets More Television Shows
Amazon has reached an agreement with NBCUniversal Cable and New Media Distribution that will bring hundreds of television shows to Amazon streaming services. The new shows will be available to users of the Kindle Fire and Amazon Prime subscribers. With the addition of the NBC portfolio, Amazon will now be able to offer shows like Friday Night Lights and Parks and Recreation, which are both amazing. Director of Digital Video Content Acquisition at Amazon Brad Beale said, “We continue to invest heavily in our content selection for Prime members, and have now reached over 22,000 movies and TV episodes available instantly with unlimited streaming.”

Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Event Will Shake Industry
As mentioned last month, Hideo Kojima plans to showcase his new Fox Engine on August 30th. But with it being the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear franchise, that may only be the tip of the iceberg. In a recent podcast, Kojima Productions Report podcaster Ken Mendoza said there will be "a lot of exciting announcements" at the event. Chris Johns added the following: "A lot of things to look forward to next week – not just for fans, but I think the industry's gonna be shook by what we're going to be able to present here." There may be a lot of hyperbole in that statement, but I'm sure Kojima and Metal Gear fans are eagerly awaiting the news that will come out of the event next week. Will we get some details on Project Ogre or maybe Metal Gear Solid 5? We'll find out in five days.

Apple Wins Patent Case Against Samsung
Apple and Samsung have been locked in a long legal battle over whether Samsung had infringed upon a number of Apple patents in its smartphone products. A jury ruled yesterday that Samsung had indeed infringed on seven Apple patents and awarded Apple $1.05 billion in damages. While that is a lot of money, Samsung may be somewhat relieved as Apple had been seeking upward of $2.5 billion. Samsung had counter sued claiming that Apple had infringed on five of its patents, but was awarded no damages by the jury. A total of 24 Samsung phones were ruled to have infringed on the Apple patents, including the Galaxy S3 and Fascinate.
