Next-Gen Source 2 Engine Is In Development?
I don't find it hard to believe a rumor that Valve is working on a Source 2 engine. Now, if it was Source 3...or anything ending in 3, I'd call B.S. immediately.

He's found many more references to a "Source 2", but not just one vague line like our previous entry. We're only one file deep, and already it's clear that the references to "Source 2" are indeed referring to a next-gen engine that Valve is currently developing. I'm only going to show one line in this post, but there are about 60+ references here, and this one line is probably the most telling.

Apple's Biggest Marketing Secret Revealed In Court
I'm not sure this was ever a secret.

Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller testified Friday that the company counts on free press coverage and products placed in film and television shows, sometimes over pricey advertising, to promote its devices to users. Instead, the company relies on these two strategies:
Rely on the media to create buzz for its products through positive reviews.
Product placement in TV shows and movies.

ASUS Maximus V Gene
VR-Zone has posted a review of the ASUS Maximus V Gene micro-ATX motherboard today. For comparison purposes, you can read our evaluation here

ASUS's Republic of Gamers boards are advertised as gaming-oriented boards, yet they also have a deadly alter ego which caters to the extreme overclocking hobbyist (à la Batman-Bruce Wayne). Today we explore the reasons why the sub-US$200 mATX Maximus V GENE (Z77) has a cult following among enthusiasts these days and also put an Ivy Bridge 3770K under SS Phase Change cooling.

Mars Landing Video Taken Down After Bogus Copyright Claim
I'm not saying YouTube needs to pull its head out of its ass when it comes to stuff like this but....ummm...well, I guess I am saying that.

The video was gone, replaced with an alien message: "This video contains content from Scripps Local News, who has blocked it on copyright grounds. Sorry about that." That is to say, a NASA-made video posted on NASA's official YouTube channel, documenting the landing of a $2.5 billion Mars rover mission paid for with public taxpayer money, was blocked by YouTube because of a copyright claim by a private news service.

Best Buy Founder Offers To Buy Company Back
What is the best way to get back at Best Buy board members for forcing you to resign from your own company? Buy the company back and dish out your own "internal probes."

"I have been actively exploring all available options for my ownership stake," Schulze, 71, said in the letter. "That exploration has reinforced my belief that bold and extensive changes are needed for Best Buy to return to market leadership and has led me to the conclusion that the company's best chance for renewed success will be to implement these changes under a different ownership structure."

Xclio Touch 767 Full-Tower Case
If you are in the market for a new case, the crew at eTeknix has just published a review of the Xclio Touch 767. Overall they seemed to like the case but the reviewer did take issue with the lack of cable management options.

The only issues I have with this chassis is its somewhat at odds cable management solutions, they're not very uniform and with odd sizes and placements things still looked horrendously cluttered inside the chassis, if you were to add in another half dozen fans and a few more hard drives, this issue is only going to get compounded.

Seeing Through Walls With a Wireless Router
The scariest thing about this article? Almost everyone has a wireless router in our house somewhere. Thanks to [H] forum member Ocean for the link.

In the 1930s, U.S. Navy researchers stumbled upon the concept of radar when they noticed that a plane flying past a radio tower reflected radio waves. Scientists have now applied that same principle to make the first device that tracks existing Wi-Fi signals to spy on people through walls.

Apple Tech Support Lets Hacker Take Reporter's Email
If you are an Apple iDevice user, or know someone that is, I suggest reading this. If you aren't an Apple iDevice user, you can just read this for the laugh.

So how did it happen? Apple confirmed that the hacker got in via its tech support "and some clever social engineering that let them bypass security questions", according to Honan, who sensibly doesn't elaborate. He wants to give Apple the chance to change its policies before revealing how the mistake was made.
