Prototype 2 Available for Pre-load on Steam, Comes with RADNET DLC and First Game
Last month, we brought sad news that developer Radical Entertainment was effectively shutting down. Fortunately for PC gamers, its final game, Prototype 2, was still a go and will be dropping on July 24, 2012, less than three short days away. The game is now available for pre-load on Steam, and for those that decide to pre-purchase the game, you'll not only get the RADNET DLC for free, but also a copy of the original Prototype. Despite Radical Entertainment's closing, Prototype 2's reception has been largely positive, scoring Metacritic scores of 79 and 74 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, respectively. The RADNET DLC adds 20 events, 20 challenges, 5 exclusive mutation abilities, 5 bonus unlock abilities, and an Alex Mercer skin unlock, the protagonist from the first game. In addition, it includes five exclusive "Behind the Scenes" videos.
Prototype 2 will cost you $49.99, with the addition of Prototype being about a $15-20 value.

Borderlands 2 is Completed and Off to Certification; Gearbox Begins Work on DLC
Good news, everyone! Gearbox has completed work on Borderlands 2 and sent the game for certification. This comes nearly two months before the sequel is due to arrive, which should be plenty of time to make sure everything is all there and the game can go gold. Once that happens, you can bet everyone will begin salivating at the thought of seeing all the glorious loot in Borderlands 2 and experiencing the 58 hour campaign. This also means that the team at Gearbox can finish up work on the Mechromancer DLC, which has been promised as post-launch DLC since April. The Mechromancer will be a fifth class for the game and adds another playable female character. The DLC will launch between two and three months after the game arrives, so it could be here just in time for the holidays. The Mechromancer will be free to everyone who pre-orders Borderlands 2, so make sure you get your copy reserved!
Borderlands 2 arrives on September 18th in North America and September 21st everywhere else for the PC, PS3, and 360.
