Borderlands Veterans Can Unlock Borderlands 2 Exclusives
We're just a little over two months away from the highly anticipated release of Gearbox Software's Borderlands 2, the sequel to the highly addictive "role-playing shooter", Borderlands. Back in May, we posted about all the goodies you could receive through pre-ordering and/or purchasing one of two special editions. Now comes word of some new extras that won't cost you anything more – when Borderlands 2 detects save data from the original Borderlands, exclusive character heads and skins will be unlocked. Based on the image posted by Gearbox, these "Vault Veteran Rewards" seem to include Borderlands-branded clothing and some rather interesting "heads": a Crimson Lance helmet for Commando, Patricia Tannis' goggles for Siren, a Sledge helmet for Gunzerker, and a Spiderant head for Assassin.

First Screenshots for Survarium Released - F2P MMOFPS From Former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Developer
This past April we learned the former developer for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games had reformed under the name Vostok Games. The new studio announced its first project would be a free-to-play MMOFPS by the name of Survarium, which is designed to carry on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. legacy. At the time there was not much to go on for the new game other than the fact it is a spiritual successor. Today, however, the first batch of screenshots for Survarium have surfaced and it is looking great so far. The game has RPG and survival elements, and will have mutants, underground levels, and even bullet ballistics, so it certainly sounds like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have been reborn. Survarium will be a story-driven MMOFPS, so that means no large, seamless world like in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but I imagine that will not be missed too much.
Survarium will arrive next year exclusively for the PC, and you can check out the second developer diary below.

First-Person Shooter The Walking Dead Arriving in 2013 AMC's The Walking Dead television series about post zombie apocalypse survivors is one of the most critically acclaimed and popular television series out right now. Developer Telltale Games has been bringing gamers an episodic adventure game of the same name to huge success and now fans of the franchise will soon have another game to sink their teeth in (no zombie-inspired pun intended). Terminal Reality is developing a first-person shooter, simply called The Walking Dead Video Game. Based on the recently released teaser trailer (seen below), it seems like players will take on the role of Daryl Dixon, one of the fan favorites from the television series. Daryl seems like a wise choice, as he's deadly accurate with his trademark crossbow. The trailer also hints at possible co-op play, with the second player taking on the role of his brother, Merle Dixon. The game will take place prior to the events on the television series, as the trailer clearly states "Before Atlanta", which means **TV SPOILER ALERT**, Merle will have both hands. Further details on the game are unknown at this time, other than it coming to PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

PC Gaming On the Upswing? Many people in the gaming industry, along with many gamers, have been declaring that PC gaming is dead for quite some time. However, a number of recent factors seem to indicate that this statement continues to be wrong. The month of May saw console game and hardware sales drop for the sixth straight month while Diablo 3 became the first PC exclusive to be the top selling game since July 2010. Console sales were down 28% from a year earlier while PC game sales were up 230% over the same time period. The console market hasn't seen new systems in years, while hardware developers like NVIDIA continue to innovate and create improved components for the PC market. NVIDIA spokesman Bryan Del Rizzo said "Toward the tail of the console life cycle, the gap between console and PC is just too big for developers to ignore." As a PC gamer, I welcome news like this, just as I will welcome the Steam Summer Sale which should begin any day. Read More ...
Thermaltake Releases BigType Revo CPU Cooler Thermaltake has announced the release of its newest CPU cooler, the BigType Revo, first introduced at CeBIT 2012. At the core of this heatsink are five 6mm direct touch heat-pipes to help take the heat from the CPU and disperse it through curved aluminum fins. The curved design of the fins helps to increase airflow while also reducing air pressure. A 120mm fan is included and can be adjusted from 800 to 1800 RPM through the use of pulse width modulation. The BigType Revo will be available in both Intel and AMD models. Read More ...
