Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek, has revealed that the company’s future lies in free to play (F2P) titles.  Sony, among other big names in the gaming industry, is already putting big money into developing upcoming F2P titles such as Bullet Run, so it’s understandable that Crytek seeks to head in the F2P direction also.

Shane Acker, Brown Bag Films, and Valve team up to produce "Deep"

An Indie-gaming-film industry trio consisting of the film 9’s Shane Acker, Brown Bag Films, and Valve will be teaming up to create the upcoming film Deep.  Utilizing Brown Bag Films’ experience in producing children’s animated TV programs and Valve’s Source game engine, Acker will direct an Indie genre that may end up as another Valve indie film distribution.

Anonymous retaliates against internet censorship in India

One way to retaliate against governance censorship of the internet is to hack the sites of the organizations/companies that support censorship.  Anonymous, an internet activist group, has been hacking into various sites and temporarily disabling them to express their frustration towards banned sites and blocked contents by various Indian internet service providers (ISPs).

Verizon and AT&T drop Dropbox 50GB promotion

Dropbox currently partners with various cellular carriers to add an extra 48GB of cloud storage, but AT&T and Verizon have opted to not partner with Dropbox.  The promotion runs the length of an “average” contract, and neither carrier has any comments concerning their decision.
