Samsung trademarks a few more GALAXY device names
Future Samsung devices under the GALAXY branding have just had an injection of new names as Samsung have just filed trademark applications for three more GALAXY devices with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The names in the filings were the GALAXY Lift, GALAXY Perx, and GALAXY Sire. Nothing else is known but the classification of them being under "Mobile telephones; Smartphones."

Samsung have filed trademark applications for quite a few new phones over the last few months, with January seeing the Joy and Fresh, and February seeing Awaken, Axiom, Heir and Rite. The latest three filings include GALAXY in their name, which would indicate the phones will be Android-based devices, the special names are the sort that would normally be reserved for a US-specific phone, as most international models keep their names if they stay intact.

On top of this, filing for trademark protection for a name is no guarantee we'll even see the devices, but we get to see the thought process and somewhat of a direction from Samsung. We should see at least a couple of these models released eventually.

World's second largest porn site talks facts and figures, doesn't need to measure up against the rest
Porn. We all know the Internet is filled with it, and would be a contributing factor toward cloud storage upgrades for many porn sites, and many, many more home users. ExtremeTech talked to YouPorn who are the second largest porn site, about their backend, and how many people use their "services".

Some of the figures are pretty insane, which we've listed below:

  • YouPorn has over 100 terabytes of porn on its server.
  • The site delivers over 100 million page views each day.
  • That amounts to almost a petabyte of a data transfered each day.
  • When people are exceptionally busy on the site, it can deliver 4,000 pages a second. ExtremeTech calculates that that adds up to 800Gbps, or 100 gigabytes per second.
  • Here's the kicker: that's about 2% of the Internet's total traffic.
At it's peak, YouPorn makes up 2-percent of the Internet's total traffic. It may not sound like a lot, but 2-percent of the entire Internet traffic is quite amazing. If it were inches, then it'd be a different story altogether.

We don't know which movies will be included in the new content deal, but the content is said to be added over the next few weeks to both YouTube and Google Play's movie libraries. At the moment, U.S. and Canada will benefit from the injection of flicks, which means there should be some exclusivity, for now.

YouTube can now rest easy, being capable of boasting that they have content deals with five out of the six major movie studios, and its rental library now proud parents to over 9,000 movies.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin gets caught wearing Project Glass prototype in person
A little situation of 'why him and not me', Google co-founder Sergey Brin was testing out their Project Glass augmented reality HUD out in public. He was spotted sporting the glasses at a Dining in the Dark charity event for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Robert Scoble and Thomas Hawk were lucky enough to be at the same dinner, where they spotted Sergey wearing the glasses. Sergey explained that the glasses were a prototype, where they could see a "bluish light" flashing off his right eyeball. Scoble guesses the light meant that his Google+ profile was pulled up on Sergey's glasses, thanks to its augmented reality and always-on Internet connection.

He continued saying that most people around them had no idea that the glasses are actually different to normal specs. All I can say is, I want them and I want them now. So jealous.

Samsung's iPad competitor, their GALAXY Tab range has a new entry and it has better pricing than ever, the GALAXY Tab 2 10.1-inch tablet will start at just $399.99. The $399.99 pricing is coming from Office Depot of all places, but hey, no one can complain about that price.

Considering most 10.1-inch tablets are at the $499-or-so mark, this is a great price bracket to hit. It's only 8GB, but the GALAXY Tab 2 range has expandable storage through microSD card, and its not like they're overly expensive for an 8, 16 or 32GB card.

You can hit up the GALAXY Tab 2 10.1 right now at that price, and be sure to let us know how she performs. Strangely, when I looked, it wasn't there. We'll keep an eye on it for now.
