DreamHack and Major League Gaming Detail Upcoming Events
DreamHack and Major League Gaming both have StarCraft 2 tournaments that are taking place this weekend, and both organizations made some announcements regarding these events this past week. The DreamHack EIZO Open will take place in Stockholm from April 21-22 and will feature four casters live at the event. The casters that will be on site are Apollo, Wolf, iNcontroL, and SemmlerTheRiot. In addition to the live casters, DreamHack will be partnering with a number of other entities to bring the games to the fans. IMBAtv, JoRoSaR, ESV, GLHF.tv, and STIM.tv have all signed on to help broadcast the games.
MLG will be hosting the first of two Spring Arena events at the MLG Studio in New York City, with the top eight finishers from the Winter Championships fighting for $10,900 in prizes. Swedish player Naniwa opted to participate in DreamHack in his native country and will be replaced by MC. The games will be broadcast on seven streams from Friday through Sunday and will feature casters such as Artosis, Tasteless, djWHEAT, and Grubby. Also on hand will be pro players Axslav, QXC, and Sheth to provide in-depth analysis of the games being played. The event will be broadcast on a PPV basis, with an event pass costing $10.
