Using A Curved Panel With 3D Projections
The idea of using a curved screen with 3D projections to add more depth is so simple, it is a wonder no one thought of it before. Hit the link for more images and an embedded video.

Believe it or not, the config really does make a difference, enabling a more immersive experience that makes 3D objects appear more realistic, assuming they're positioned in such a way that they're standing on the near-horizontal portion of the screen.

Seattle Man Wins Small Claims Case Against Apple
Chalk one up for the little guy.

He says that Apple attempted to have the case dismissed by claiming that his computer was not part of the company's replacement program because his CPU was clocked at 2.6Ghz, while the press release for the replacement program says 2.5Ghz. The judge wasn't buying that, nor was he apparently buying any of Apple's arguments for why it should not have repaired the computer for free.

Twitter's New Patent Pledge: First, Do No Evil
I know, I know, companies say "do no evil" so often that it doesn't mean jack squat anymore but I do like the idea of not using patents to block innovation.

The pledge, which could become a kind of Hippocratic Oath for tech companies with patents, gives Twitter employees more control over their inventions -- and, most importantly, promises that the patents will only be used for defensive purposes, not to block other companies from innovating.

Ellison Takes The Stand in Android IP Trial
It's only the second day of Oracle vs. Google and we've already seen both Larry Page and Larry Ellison as witnesses. Any predictions on how this one is going to turn out?

Ellison testified that if "people could copy our software and create cheap knockoffs of our products, we wouldn't get paid for our engineering and wouldn't be able to invest what we invest." Google maintains that Android's 15 million lines of code only contain parts of Java that were freely available in the public domain.

Macbook Pro Perfume, Cologne
Someone PLEASE tell me this is a joke. The funny part is? I always imagined that a Macbook cologne would smell like Kool-Aid. Thanks to TheWeazmeister for the link.

A distinctive scent can be observed when unwrapping a newly purchased Apple product from its packaging. Apple fans will certainly recognize this smell. The scent created for Greatest Hits encompasses the smell of the plastic wrap covering the box, printed ink on the cardboard, the smell of paper and plastic components within the box and of course the aluminum laptop which has come straight from the factory where it was assembled in China.
