What's the best thing to do if you get arrested for posting sexually explicit images of a 14 year-old girl on Facebook? One thing is for sure: you don't want to get back on the Internet and brag about it on Twitter. The next move he should make is to taunt the police by challenging them to try and arrest him.


"Sadly, it would appear that arrest and a police warning have done nothing to teach this young man a lesson."

Wi-Fi Households to Approach 800 Million by 2016
Wi-Fi wireless connections around the world are climbing almost exponentially and will reach 800 million households by 2016 according to a forecaster. That figure represents almost a doubling of present numbers within the next four years.


Emerging markets, Asia in particular, will drive growing use of Wi-Fi in homes around the world over the five-year period.

Medicaid Hacked: Over 181k Records and 25k SSNs Stolen
Utah's Medicaid servers were hacked into last week and hackers from Eastern Europe were blamed for the breach and theft of over 25k files containing personal information for over 181k Medicaid clients.


DTS had recently moved the claims records to a new server, which had a configuration error at the authentication level, allowing hackers to circumvent the security system.

Critical Microsoft Patch Fixes Windows, Office, and IE
Yep, it's coming up on Patch Tuesday again and this time we have six security updates, four of them labeled critical and the remaining two as important. This should keep system admins busy right after the Easter holidays.


"[Bulletin 4] is a head scratcher," said Andrew Storms, director of security operations at nCircle Security. "Usually a bulletin covers developer tools or servers or Office, but whammo, here's one with everything."

Harmonix to Release Rock Band Blitz This Summer
This game is different from the other Rock Band games in that it doesn't require any peripherals. Instead, it goes back to some of the earlier games which rely on frequency and amplitude, where players press buttons in time with the songs which span multiple lanes. The game will feature a new soundtrack of 25 songs.

Why Next-Gen Gaming Consoles Will Let You Play Used Games
Industry insiders are speculating that the next generation of gaming consoles will not exclude the use of used games, if for nothing else than to increase the company sales and profit. Neither Sony (PS4) nor Microsoft (Xbox720) is willing to bet on the other to exclude used games. Both are expected to err on the side of caution and support their user base, initially at least.


Both Microsoft and Sony must know that banning used games from their consoles would be a massive mistake that would limit sales and thus, increase risk.

Sensational headline don't you think? Well, it's only partially true of course, since the only part cut off was the hair. After looking at the results it should be reasonably simple to figure out why humans still are needed in certain job descriptions. The hair cutting subject was in no real danger since there was a robot surgeon standing by for emergencies.

Navy Hires Company to Hack Video Game Consoles
The US Navy has contracted with a company to hack video game systems for the purpose of extracting user information. The company, California based Obscure Technologies, will provide software and hardware to continue the monitoring on a long term basis. Your tax dollars at work. I feel safer already.


"This project involves furnishing video game systems, both new and used, and creating prototype rigs for capturing data from the video game systems."

Apple iTV to be Renamed 'iPanel' Ahead of Launch
The rumor mill is working overtime grinding out supposed details of the new-soon-to-be-released Apple television. The most current rumor is that it will not be called the iTV as previously thought, but due to a legal entanglement may be called the Apple iPanel instead. iSee, iUnderstand and iApprove.


Apple is trying to negotiate with the ITV broadcaster, the BBC competitor is currently reluctant to permit the use of its name for a new television centric device.

Hardcore Gamers Still Prefer Physical Media
A report from Wedbush Securities has found that the switch to digitally downloaded games isn't as popular as predicted and acceptance is slow in coming. It looks like gamers are just not willing to give up their physical media anytime soon.


"It's true that the casual gamer might probably opt for the digital choice; it's generally faster and easier, and they don't care about having a game library, but the hardcore do".

Samsung Announces Record Profits
In a word, Samsung is knocking 'em dead by almost doubling its profits during the same period last year. Samsung seems to be on the right track by not being just a one-trick-pony.


"They have a good line-up of new products, so they will be able to keep the momentum alive for two or three quarters, at least."
