Ex-Rockstar employee spills beans on GTA V
Before we get into this news, I'd like to ask you to take a pinch of any salt you have near you. Thank you. Now, we have a poster over on the GameSpot forums, that has reportedly posted a bunch of unreleased information on Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. The details came from someone called "Gloggle", who was fired from Rockstar due to "misconduct". His quote, and info (along with spoilers for both GTA IV and V):

I am a friend of someone who recently got sacked from RockStar North for general misconduct. Because one contract to RockStar covered everything, including secrecy, and his contractual obligaton was now removed, he was legally allowed to spill the beans on Rockstar's upcoming GTA V. And he is making damn sure everyone knows about it.
Here is the info you really want:
1. The protagonist will be one character, and one character alone. His name is (as some rumours said) Albert De Silva. He's a half hispanic man who was once part of a crime family in Vice City. He decided to settle down and have kids in Los Santos. He has one son called Kevin De Silva who is your stereotypical CoD player. He's lazy, useless and shouts racial abuse online and is really into FPS games. Kevin does admire his Dad though.
2. Multiplayer will hold 32 people on the Xbox and PS3. I wasn't told how many were able to be on the PC. Just like in RDR, players will be able to form Gangs. These gangs are not ranked through XP anymore, but via Reputation. Instead of gang hideouts, you can do jobs that range from robbing a launderette to breaking into a military base and stealing state-of-the-art weaponary. The Gang leader has much more control over his or her gang by being able to rank members of their gang and setting more specific objectives to specific members of their gang. Gangs can have their own terratory but this only applies to areas inside the city of Los Santos.
3. The map is about 5x as large as the GTA IV map and the City of Los Santos takes up just under half of this area (so it's a bit bigger than 2 GTA IV Liberty Cities).
The map is (like most GTAs) seperated into three different sections. 4. Planes are flyable, they range from World War 2 fighter planes to Private Jets.
5. Cars and guns are customisable to an extent, for example, you can cusomise a gun to have a supressor on it and you can install nitrous into cars.
Here's some stuff you might like:
1. The protagonist is the "rich guy" from the GTA V debut trailer. You get to learn more about this man in the second when he talks about his troubles. You only see the protagonist twice in the trailer. First time is the side of his face and second time is when he is driving a Deceptor (Audi R8). The people robbing the jewellery store are just with the protagonist. He is driving the van ready to get away.
2. Gunfights are more realistic. When you are shooting a gun out of a window of a car, depending on how fast it's going you will have troubles aiming due to shaking cameras.
3. The game is due in May 2013. A more specific date has not been decided because the game is still needing 6 months to be fully developed. They will have a playable demo at E3.
4. Police chases are now way more than either running or driving. Depending on how wanted you are, police may bring out riot shields and flash bangs. 5. When someone reaches 4 star wanted level, there will be a radio warning on some stations.
6. Radio stations now do traffic reports that are actually correct. So if you don't know what route to take, you can check the traffic reports on your phone or the radio. 7. The in-game TV now has many more channels
8. The protagonist DOES NOT die unlike in the last two Rockstar games.
9. The underworld actually has a working economy that you can contribute too by buying and selling drugs, weapons and illegal cars in single player.
10. The protagonist can take drugs which will have some effects. But smoking weed on the streetwalk will lead to getting a one star wanted level.
11. Police cars will go after you if you're obviousely breaking the speed limit. Having high speed crashes will also damage your health.
Wanted levels:
1 star - police follow you on foot and try to make an arrest. No sirens, no car chases (unless you are speeding).
2 star - police will still attempt to make an arrest. If a weapon is drawn then the police will begin opening fire. Police will use stun guns if a weapon is not drawn.
3 star - Chases begin and the police don't care how they stop you, they just want to do it.
4 star - road traps, radio stations and much more hostile police.Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 24 in-game hours for someone matching your description.
5 star - shoot to kill, arrest only if it's made very possible. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 48 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Few missions become unavailable if you are wanted.
6 star - military vehicles come after you. Even when you have evaded them, they will still search for 72 in-game hours for someone matching your description. Some missions become unavailable if you are wanted.

Google launches Street View in Thailand
Google started a local presence within Thailand back in September, but have only just launched their Street View service over the weekend, with street level images now available in and around several Thai cities.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand is also inviting people to nominate places or landmarks to appear in Google Street View. Thai tourist authorities are hoping to increase tourism with the new service, where they want to try and emulate the increased tourism that Pompeii, Italy experienced after rolling out Google Street View.

T-Mobile slices 1,900 jobs, also closes seven call centers across the U.S.
T-Mobile have just announced that they will be cutting 1,900 jobs as well as closing seven of their call centers throughout the US as part of a plan that is said to reduce overhead as well as stockpile cash in order to invest in a restructuring plan after AT&T failed on their planned acquisition.

Some employees are being offered transfers, and those who are being let go are said to be receiving severance pay and two months of healthcare. The cut of 1,700 employees may sound drastic, but it's just a slither of T-Mobile's total workforce, the 1,700 lost jobs represents 5-percent of the total workforce.

Instagram accepting Android registrations, hipsters, prepare those cameras
Over the weekend, Instagram opened up a sign-up page for the much-anticipated Android app. At the moment, it's not known what the sign-up page actually does, whether it gives you an early entry into the app, as users are encouraged to supply an e-mail address to be the "first in line".

Instagram saw a surge in users when the iPhone 4S was released, and now sits at a very respectable 27 million users. As soon as Instagram for Android drops, you can be sure that we'll let you know.

HIS Radeon HD 7770 iCooler GHz Edition 1GB Video Card Review

Since launch we've looked at the HD 7770 in a number of ways. We saw the pre-overclocked XFX offering, we also checked out the Sapphire offering in CrossFire, overclocked the MSI card and checked out the reference model from AMD.
Because we've looked at the HD 7770 in a number of ways before the HIS model we've got today arrived, we figured that we'd just take a quick look at what HIS was offering us. Run 3DMark 11, pull some heat and noise numbers and give you our thoughts because we already know how the HD 7770 runs in a number of scenarios. So, saying all that, let's take the time to quickly see what's going on with the bundle.

Moving onto the card itself there's not heaps going on with the overall design. As you can see most of the card is covered up by a black shroud that covers almost the entire PCB.

Finally we finish up with the I/O side of things and as you can see below we've got a single Dual-Link DVI connector on the far right with two HDMI ports and two MiniDP connectors to round out the connectivity side of things.

Firing up 3DMark 11 we ended up with a score of P3580 which is exactly what we'd expect from the HD 7770. It's not a bad score, but our issue has always been compared to the HD 6870 which sits at a similar price point at the moment, the HD 7770 comes off looking quite overpriced.
What was really nice though was the cooler which let the GPU sit at 35c when idle and still quite a cool 51c at load. More surprising, though, was the cooler which came in at 54.4dB at idle and 55.1dB at load. These are good numbers which see this as the second coolest running card and quietest active cooled card we've tested recently.
The biggest issue continues to be the price of the card. While there's still a large amount of HD 6870 stock available at that current mid $100 mark after rebate, the shine is just taken off any HD 7770 model.

The HD 7770 series isn't going to come down in price anytime soon as we will simply see the HD 6800 eventually be cleared out making the HD 7770 look more attractive. Until then, though, the model does look overpriced, and while the HD 6800 series card is a last generation model, the bottom line is performance talks, and the HD 6870 is a better buy.
Saying that we're starting to see some nice variants of the HD 7700 series come out, last week we saw an awesome passive cooled HD 7750 and today we've got a really cool running HD 7770 offering from HIS that is also extremely quiet.
If noise levels and temperature are extremely important to you, along with the fact that you want to jump on the latest 28nm GPUs from AMD, then I can see how you could be swayed towards buying the HD 7770. While the series is growing on us thanks to some nice variants, we're still not 100% sold on them just yet.
