LightSquared Gets $65 Million as Sprint Quits
Beleaguered LightSquared has suffered yet another setback in its attempt to get its wireless network 'off the ground'. The FCC has indefinitely suspended LightSquared authority to use the satellite spectrum for a ground based cell network due to the possibility of interference with existing GPS frequencies. Adding insult to injury, LightSquared has now lost the support of its main investor to the tune of $9 Billion.

Microsoft Says No New Xbox 'Anytime Soon'
If you were hoping the rumors were true that Microsoft was going to announce the new Xbox 720 at the E3 in June were true, you are going to be disappointed. Microsoft announced there will be no new Xbox anytime soon and obviously no Xbox 720 unveiling at E3. Sometimes rumors are just rumors. It looks like as long as the Xbox 360 continues to see record sales, Microsoft is in no particular rush to push production on the 720.
How soon until we see a new Xbox? Right now, rumors I'm hearing say that we're unlikely to see a new console until at least spring 2013, and maybe even not until 2014.

FAA to Test Electronic Gadget Interference Theory
For the last 20 years or so, the Federal Aviation Administration has enforced a ban on electronic device usage on takeoff and landings. (Just ask Alec Baldwin) The world is a constantly changing place and so too are the rules. Since iPads are now allowed in the cockpit and are carried as standard equipment on some airlines, the question of myth versus reality is about to be tested. Time to call on the MythBusters.
If the FAA's eventual testing demonstrates that the theory is bunk, maybe we'll soon be able to use our gadgets on takeoff and landing.
