Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower
The Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower is on the test bench at ThinkComputers today for a little review action. Hit the link to see if Cosmos II lives up to the "ultra tower" name.

Back in 2011 at CES we saw a prototype of the new Cosmos that Cooler Master was going to release later in the year. We were excited, but we had no clue when it was going to be released. Right before CES this year Cooler Master announced the Cosmos II. A massive case with support for up to 13 hard drives, 5 included fans with support for up to 10 fans, 2 hot swap hard drive bays, and it can fit motherboards up to XL-ATX.

Teen Members of Anonymous Arrested
Well, now we know why those Anonymous guys like to wear those goofy Guy Fawkes masks, because most of them aren't old enough to grow facial hair.

Greek police said Monday they had arrested an 18-year-old suspected of hacking into the justice ministry's website earlier this month, an attack claimed on behalf of online hackers group Anonymous. Two other boys aged 16 and 17 were also being sought over the case, police said.

Google Bypassed IE Privacy Settings Too
Hey Safari users, don't feel bad about Google sidestepping your browser security, they were doing it to Internet Explorer users too.

"When the IE team heard that Google had bypassed user privacy settings on Safari, we asked ourselves a simple question: is Google circumventing the privacy preferences of Internet Explorer users too?" IE executive Dean Hachamovitch wrote in a blog post this morning. "We've discovered the answer is yes: Google is employing similar methods to get around the default privacy protections in IE and track IE users with cookies."

Steal Laptops For Class Credit?
Having your students steal laptops for class credit? Boneheaded or brilliant? One thing is for sure, the next person caught stealing a laptop on campus is going to have a great excuse.

The students were then asked to steal the laptops. In total, sixty documented attempts were made, half of which were successful. Dimkov concluded that no matter how watertight a security system appears to be, its effectiveness is determined by human behaviour.

Iranians Cut Off From The Internet AGAIN
Quick, everyone point and laugh at Iran, don't worry they won't notice.

The latest Internet blockade affected the most common form of secure connections, including all encrypted international websites outside of Iran that depend on the Secure Sockets Layer protocol, which display addresses beginning with "https." "Email, proxies and all the secure channels that start with 'https' are not available," said a Tehran-based technology expert who declined to be identified.

The Pirate Bay Faces UK Blockade
Do you ever wonder how much money has been wasted trying to block access to the Pirate Bay. I am not advocating piracy, I'm just saying that the amount of time, money and resources used to take them down is mind boggling.

High Court Justice Arnold has sided with them, claiming The Pirate Bay does not only enable or assist copyright theft, but actively encourages it. "I conclude that both users and the operators of [The Pirate Bay] infringe the copyrights of the claimants … in the UK," said the judge in a written statement. The judgement paves the way for a court order for ISPs to start blocking their users access to The Pirate Bay. A final decision is expected in June.

Flickr Photos Reveal Your Hometown?
According to a new study, researches can determine where you live by the photos you post on Flickr. What a stupid study, how can anyone tell I live in Las Vegas by this picture?

To prove their success rate, the study compares their guesses to the Flickr profiles in which users have published their home locations. "In 70 percent of the cases our algorithm has predicted the place of living of people with low error," the study states.

Conflict Of Interest In ABC's Exclusive Access To Foxconn?
Are any of you really surprised that, of all the huge media outlets vying for a story, the one with ties to Apple was given exclusive access? Is it a conflict of interest or sour grapes? I guess the news report will tell us all we need to know.

The real twist here, however, is Apple's relationship with ABC. ABC's parent company is Disney Corporation. The top dog at Disney, CEO Bob Iger, sits on Apple's Board. Meanwhile, the late Steve Jobs (and now his family) are the biggest individual shareholders of Disney. Does this create a conflict of interest and possibly call into question ABC's reporting on the Apple supply chain?

Researchers Create Single-Atom Transistor
For those of you that haven't seen this yet, Researchers from Purdue, the University of Melbourne and the University of New South Wales have created a working transistor from a single atom. Thanks to Robert for the link.

We have fabricated a single-atom transistor in which a single phosphorus atom is positioned between highly doped source and drain leads with a lateral spatial accuracy of ±1 atomic lattice spacing. We demonstrate that we are able to register source, drain and gate contacts to the individual donor atom and observe well-controlled transitions for 0, 1 and 2 electron states, in agreement with atomistic modeling of the device.
