Goodbye Remote Control
At the Consumer Electronics Show, the Israeli company showed off a next-generation TV interface that lets you control your TV experience with a wave of your hand. Like Kinect, the system uses a 3D camera with chips made by PrimeSense that can capture your movement in a 3D space and translate those motions into commands for the TV. If it succeeds, you can say adios to your TV remote control and engage in what PrimeSense calls "total digital immersion" with your body as the control for future smart TVs.

More Web Sites and Games Going Dark to Protest SOPA
What started out as a trickle last week to protest SOPA led by Wikipedia is turning into a torrent (no pun intended). Even more Internet protesters are preparing to jump on board protest train and temporarily shut down their websites on January 18th for the cause. We reported that Google and some other heavy hitters of the Internet were considering joining the protest and with the addition of more sites coming on board, it will be more likely that they will not want to be left out. It looks like the Internet is waking up and striking back.

Graphics chip maker NVIDIA posted word on its blog site that it does not support SOPA saying, "NVIDIA wasn't consulted by ESA in formulating their position on SOPA."

India has followed China in warning 21 social networking sites that they face being blocked in India unless policies are instituted to monitor and censor content. The process has begun to formally notify and serve summons on the companies. Google and Facebook have both responded to the original complaint by citing their global non-interference corporate policies.

The case first began with a private complaint filed by journalist Vinay Rai against these firms for allegedly webcasting objectionable content. Representatives of the 21 companies were thus summoned to court and a long proceeding began.

DNS Provision Pulled From SOPA
Now this is a surprising bit of good news. Now, if we can just get them to pull everything else out (including their heads) we'd be doing great!
