CA Technologies buys Watchmouse for cloud monitoring
CA Technologies is purchasing WatchMouse, a maker of SaaS-based tools for monitoring mobile and on-demand applications, the company announced Friday. Terms were not disclosed. The WatchMouse technology is sold via subscription and will be rolled into CA's portfolio of application monitoring tools. It will serve as a lower-cost, subscription-based alternative for customers who want to track application performance but don't need an extensive suite of capabilities, CA said.

Apple and Samsung both sold more smartphones than Nokia in the second quarter, although Nokia still sold most phones overall, market researcher Strategy Analytics said Friday. AMD takes microprocessor market share from Intel in Q2
Strong demand for Fusion chips helped Advanced Micro Devices take global microprocessor market share from Intel in the second quarter this year, Mercury Research said in a study released on Thursday. AMD's x86 microprocessor market share grew to 19.4 percent during the second quarter, up from 17.8 percent during last year's second quarter. Intel's market share fell to 79.9 percent from 81.3 percent in the year-ago quarter.
