Hotmail gets advanced features
Microsoft has recently began the roll out of an update for its free email service Hotmail, which is claimed to allow for greater performance through the use of HTML5 and for greater functionality. Inspired by Outlook, the tweaks brought to Hotmail enable its users to set a default font and personal signature for all emails, to take advantage of keyboard shortcuts which are the same as in Outlook, and to get more from the right-click menu through added actions like Reply, Reply all, or Forward the message. Previously available actions like Mark as unread, Delete, Junk, Move, and View message source are still there.

Samsung prepares Series 3 laptops
A new line of sleek, brushed metal laptops is being prepared by Samsung and while it's not yet officially announced, it was spotted in New York this week. The new Samsung offering is known as Series 3 and includes models with 11.6-inch, 12.1-inch, 13.3-inch and 14-inch displays.

ASUS makes AMD Llano-supporting F1A75 Series boards
ASUS today revealed its very first motherboards that support AMD's A-Series CPU-GPU hybrids codenamed Llano, the F1A75-V EVO and F1A75-V Pro. Both of these boards have an ATX form factor and are powered by the AMD A75 chipset. The F1A75 Series models utilize an FM1 socket, and feature a Dual Intelligent Processors 2 setup (a TPU and an EPU), DIGI+ VRM power, four DDR3 memory slots, seven SATA ports (at least six are SATA 6.0 Gbps), and three PCI-Express x16 slots which provide support for CrossFireX configurations and for the AMD Dual Graphics technology (allows users to pair up the GPU within the APU with a low to mid-range discrete graphics card to get a graphics performance boost of up to 128%).

PopCap Games in talks to be sold to Electronic Arts
PopCap yesterday denied earlier reports that it was being sold for $1 billion to an unnamed buyer, but TechCrunch has posted another report today claiming the deal is still very much on. Citing multiple sources, the report claims Electronic Arts is the buyer, with the deal in late-stage negotiations. At a whopping $1 billion, the deal will be a huge hail mary for EA, which has a tiny market value of just $7 billion.
