Penny Auction Sites Could Cost a Chunk of Change
Ever wonder how those "penny auction" sites work? Well, this article explains it very well and, let me tell you, they have a hell of a racket going.

So how can the sites afford to give such steep discounts? Consider an item that sells for $100. Bidding starts at $0, so users would need to have placed 10,000 bids to drive up the price by a penny at a time. If a bid costs $1, the site would have raked in $10,000 on the sale. That's not including the $100 the winner has to pay for the item.

F.3.A.R. Thoughts II & Team Fortress II FREE FOR ALL
Playing more of F3AR and still really liking it. Put those video cards to good use and get you some! I think 4XAA is broken on my setup though. 4XAA puts it so far in the weeds it is unplayable. Have not tried setting from the control panel yet though. Kudos to the F3AR devs for doing something so right in these days of "console ports." I truly feel like I am playing a PC game for the first time in a long time. Can't wait to go through the missions as Fettle and I need to hook up after that and get some co-op on! Shoot true brother!

And if you are a cheap bastard out looking for thrills and still have not played TF2, now you can do it for FREE.

Top ISPs Poised to Adopt Graduated Response to Piracy
I guess a "graduated response plan" beats the hell out of "sued over Hurt Locker" plan. I have a feeling this whole thing is going to backfire on the industry, what do you think?

This has been in the works a long time. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the respective trade groups for the four major record companies and six top Hollywood film studios, have labored for years to persuade ISPs to take a tougher antipiracy position. Under the proposed plan, participating bandwidth providers would adopt a "graduated response" to subscribers who repeatedly infringe copyrights.

Netflix Helps You Avoid Hitting Bandwidth Caps
It's a damn shame that, in this day and age, this option even exists. Kudos to Netflix though for trying to help.

After you're logged into your Netflix account, just go into https://account.netflix.com/HdToggle and select from one of three options. "Good quality" at up to .3 GB per hour, "Better quality" at up to .7 GB per hour, and "Best" at up to 1GB per hour or up to 2.3GB/hr for HD. Recently AT&T added on a 150 GB cap for DSL users and a 250 GB cap for U-Verse customers.

Google Rejects Fat Job Applicants?
Some lady is accusing Google of discriminating against fat people. She's a little light on proof and her case is rather thin but she feels she has the weight of the law on her side.

She can't be sure what Google's reasoning was, but when Ms. G and the six other applicants were escorted out, "There was not one fat person left in the pool." In the elevator, she says, the rejected women "kind of looked at each other. One girl had tears in her eyes and that's when I realized, [the HR official] separated out the fatties."
