Opera 11.50 Beta Launches Today
All you alternative browser users out there should check out Opera 11.50 Beta. The package weighs in at less than 10MB, so grab it if you want it, try it if you haven't.

The new beta of Opera's desktop browser transforms the popular Speed Dial feature by adding extensions to the mix. Speed Dial extensions transform your Speed Dial from a simple thumbnail bookmark into a dynamic source of updated content, available in every new tab. What does that mean? Instead of a static link to a weather website, a Speed Dial extension can display the forecast for your specific location.

The Wall Street Journal reports publisher Activision Blizzard will likely charge less than $8 a month for stuff such as downloadable map packs and statistical analysis. Lockheed Martin Confirms it Came Under Attack
Lockeed Martin has now confirmed the rumors that the company did come under attack over the weekend. In the story we posted yesterday (here), the company had refused to comment. Today's article also provides us with quote of the day "the internet has gotten scary."

All of this is yet another example of how the Internet has gotten scary in recent years. The knowledge and capabilities to launch attacks on the systems and networks used in sensitive military work, as well as the industrial systems that control the machinery required for modern life, have made such systems increasingly tempting targets for people who want to have an impact.

I'll never understand why people say stuff on Twitter that will get them sued. C'mon, you know the company is going to cough up your information, so why do it?

Samsung Asks to See Apple's Next iPhone, iPad
What's the old expression? Something along the lines of "turnabout is fair play."

Again, these aren't announced products, they're named in the filing as the "iPhone 4S," "iPhone 5," "iPad 3," and "third generation iPad."

"Anthony's accounts were obviously hacked," Arnold said. "He doesn't know the person named by the hacker, and we will be consulting on what steps to take next." The photo showed a man's bulging underpants.
