Fake Kaspersky Antivirus Scanner Detected on Mobile Devices
Venturing into what used to be PC only territory, the scareware perpetrators have begun to plow the fertile fields of mobile devices. A fake application of Kaspersky is now being found on some smartphones with the same old drill: Click here to scan for viruses.





The app is not very sophisticated at the moment, suggesting it was an early stage experiment for the app developer.

Apple More Profitable Than Microsoft
The numbers are in for Q3 and even though Microsoft beat the analysts' expectations, Apple surpassed Microsoft in quarterly earnings. The King is dead: Long live the King.





The monolithic Microsoft put it in cruise control while it counted the revenue from Windows and Office while the scrappy Apple quietly reinvented the music player, mobile phone and tablet computer.

Apple Lied: Filed Patent for Mobile Device Tracking
Alright, I'm not going to comment on this story. Instead, I am just going to post the article and let you guys tell me what you think.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs even stated directly that "We don't track anyone. The info circulating around is false." Reports have now surfaced that demonstrate these assurances are false. Apple filed for a patent in September of 2009 titled "Location Histories for Location Aware Devices" with the intent to develop services based around the company's ability to locate and track mobile devices running the iOS operating system.

$50M Damages For Android Location Tracking?
This lady must've bumped her damn head if she thinks she is going to get $50 million in damages from Google for location tracking. Eric Schmidt could push you off the Empire State Building on a live streaming YouTube video and you aren't going to get $50 million.

Google's Android Operating System, track their whereabouts "just as if by a tracking device for which a court-ordered warrant would ordinarily be required." The plaintiffs seek to represent other Android phone users in a class-action lawsuit, as well as at least $50 million in damages.

GIGABYTE Touch BIOS
Gigabyte is showing off its new patent pending Touch BIOS that will be used on all new GIGABYTE Z68 motherboards. The BIOS is customizable (icons can be rearranged, removed, etc.) and, If you have a touch screen monitor, you can ditch the mouse and keyboard and simply touch the screen to make changes.

Amazon Apologizes for Web Hosting Outage
Amazon has apologized for the recent outage that caused hosted websites to crash. The company is also offering credit to those affected by the outage.

"We want to apologize," the company said in the blog posting. "We know how critical our services are to our customers' businesses, and we will do everything we can to learn from this event and use it to drive improvement across our services."Amazon.com said it would give affected customers a 10-day credit for their usage in affected systems.
