Google Bonuses Dependent on Social Media Success
I like how people are fixated on the fact that Google might be basing 25% of employees annual bonus on the company's social media success. With the economy being what it is, I think most of us are just amazed that bonuses are even being handed out! Just having a job is a bonus these days. Last Friday Page sent out company-wide memo, which was leaked to Business Insider, alerting all employees that 25% of their annual bonus will be tied to the success or failure of Google's social strategy in 2011. SilverStone Fortress FT03
This SilverStone Fortress FT03 micro-ATX case looks pretty neat (figuratively and literally). I really like the way the cables come out the bottom and the way it hides the DVD drive for an ultra clean look. Head on over to Phoronix for the complete rundown. SilverStone Technology has been producing computer enclosures for years, yet they seem to always drive a new level of innovation into their products, and is why they're one of the few enclosure manufacturers to be featured on Phoronix. After being fascinated by their small form factor Sugo enclosures in the past, they introduced a SFF Fortress enclosure, which is easily one of the most unique micro-ATX enclosures." Comments

Sapphire Radeon HD 6790 Review
The fellas at Overclockers Club have posted a review of the Sapphire Radeon HD 6790 today and, according to their results, the card seems to be quite the overclocker. When it came down to the overclocking of the Sapphire HD6790, I was able to get the GPU clock speed all the way up to 1000MHz, which is about a 19% overclock on the GPU core with no voltage adjustments. TJX Hacker Claims U.S. Authorized His Crimes
Is this guy seriously trying to claim that the United States Secret Service wanted him to hack T.J.Maxx and steal credit card numbers? Riiiight. "I still believe that I was acting on behalf of the United States Secret Service and that I was authorized and directed to engage in the conduct I committed as part of my assignment to gather intelligence and seek out international cyber criminals," he wrote. "I now know and understand that I have been used as a scapegoat to cover someone's mistakes." Comments

America's Most And Least Reputable Big Companies
Forbes has put out its list of America's Most And Least Reputable Big Companies and...drum roll please....Amazon tops the list. Google is in the top ten, Microsoft and Apple are dead even in the middle of the pack and Comcast is way down at the bottom. Amazon is the most reputable company in the U.S. in 2011 because consumers believe that it stands for more than what it sells," says Anthony Johndrow, managing partner at Reputation Institute. "Its enterprise-wide story engages consumers in more than just delivering innovative products and services, a trustworthy and ethical customer experience or strong financial performance. Comments

Has Apple Cut Off Best Buy for Withholding iPad 2s?
The juicy rumor / gossip this morning is that Apple and Best Buy are at odds with the way iPad 2 sales are being handled. "Apparently, Best Buy was holding off on selling the iPad 2s it had in stock, telling customers there weren't any when in fact they had just reached their quota of sales for the day," he said a Best Buy employee had informed him. Supposedly the discipline came from the top, Tim Cook. Comments

National Beer Day
What the hell is wrong with you people? Today is National Beer Day AND No Housework Day and no one said a word to me all day? Oh well, there is still time to enjoy the day, head home, have a beer and don't bother cleaning up after yourself. Thanks to [H] forum member CBR for the heads up! Similar to New Year's Eve or the night before Thanksgiving, happy hour celebrating National Beer Days starts on April 6, with New Beer's Eve. Consider it a mini reenactment of the crowd of thirsty people who lined the streets on the April 6, 1933, outside of Milwaukee breweries waiting to buy their legal beer. Frost those mugs at home or designate a diver and hit the town. Remember to toast FDR. Comments
