Road to EVO 2K11: Singapore EVO Qualifiers this Sunday, 24 April 2011

Toshiba AT300 Android 3.0 dual-core tablet to launch in June

Aside from the AS100 that was unveiled last year, Toshiba aims to launch their new AT300 tablet based on Android 3.0 and runs dual-core processor in June. According to online sources, the AT300 will be categorized under the Regza series. No word as to whether it will be available here though.

  • A critical desaign flaw recently discovered in Western Digital's Caviar Green hard disks could result in the storage unit suffering from premature failures of its seeking heads;
  • Crucial's new Ballistix Smart tracer DDR3-1600 modules get reviewed;
  • Intel promises to serve up Google's Gingerbread in the form of a native x86 port now that the chip giant has managed to obtain a copy of the Android code from Google;
  • Google has announced at all videos that are uploaded to YouTube will now be transcoded in the free and open video format known as WebM;
  • Sony has officially declared that the PSP Go is now a dead product and will no longer be produced, and
  • Rockstar Games has been rumoured to be offering support to Nintendo's upcoming Wii sucessor in the form of new titles for the console.

Ivy Bridge chipset model names revealed alongside more Sandy Bridge-E details

If you're interested in what Intel has up it sleeves for the next eight months or so, then you'll be interested in reading this, as the models names of Intel's future chipsets for its Ivy Bridge platform set to launch early next year has tipped up alongside new details of Intel's new LGA-2011 Sandy Bridge-E processors. Not all of the news are good news though, as it looks like Intel has decided to continue to lock out overclockers.

LG Optimus Black and ME launches in Taiwan

Earlier today we attended the LG Optimus Black and Optimus ME launch event in Taipei, Taiwan and we know for certain that the Optimus Black will arrive in Singapore shortly, supposedly before the end of this month. Neither handset is a high-end model, although the Optimus Black is definitely an upper tier handset whereas the Optimus ME is a budget model.

Asus' P8Z68-V Pro shows up early on Chinese site

Detailed pictures of one of Asus' upcoming Z68 chipset based motherboards have made an appearance on a Chinese website and it gives us a pretty detailed look into what Asus has coming. The model is the P8Z68-V Pro which should be towards the upper end of Asus' Z68 boards, at least judging by its features.

EVERCOOL Unveils World's First Router Cooler

Taipei based Evercool has announced Dr. Cool, the world's first cooler for routers and various IP sharing devices. Measuring 151 x 145 x 80mm and weighing 263g , the crab-like device is powered by USB/ a DC power transformer and features a 80mm fan that operates at speeds up to 2,500 RPM at 21 dBA. Prices and availability has not been announced yet so stay tuned for more updates.
