Google Docs Android App Released
Google today released the Android app for its popular cloud-based office suite, Google Docs. The new app enables users to "create, edit, upload and share" documents from their Android-enabled device. Standard features include a document, PDF and image viewer along with the ability to share documents with contacts. The app also includes a simple widget for the home screen featuring three buttons. The widget allows users to easily access their documents list and Starred documents, or create a new document, with the option of using the device's camera and OCR technology to produce a document. The Google Docs app for Android supports Android 2.1 or above and is available for free from the Android Marketplace.

Google Releases Chrome 11
With all of the new releases coming out concerning Internet browsers, it seems like the browser war is continuing, and turning into somewhat of a number build war. Either way, Google has just pushed out its latest update, dubbed Chrome 11, which does not feature many updates besides security fixes and bug patches that have been plaguing the program. Also included with this new version however is speech to text, along with text to speech, which could change web browsing as some people know it for those suffering from disabilities. The logo for the program is now back to the flat style that was previously shown off to the public, and it seem like the revised look is here to stay, with all of its flatness and simplistic design.

Last Typewriter Factory Throws in the Towel
In the world of technology, as certain things evolve, others inevitably die off. It has gotten to the point in Mumbai, India, where Godrej and Boyce, the last typewriter manufacturer, must shut down its production line. Many would have thought that typewriters have long been extinct, however, they still have received fair use in the Indian territories of the world. The company has roughly two hundred typewriters left but as the demand plummets, it is simply not a viable business move to stay open. Milind Dukle, general manager of Godrej and Boyce's operations, explains that business was still booming in the start of the 21st century with production numbers hitting twelve thousand typewriters. The 60 year old company has no choice but to shut down after sales dropped from tens of thousand to hundreds within the same decade.

ASUS Introduces First Sandy Bridge Server Motherboard
With the Intel Sandy Bridge platform now in the hands of consumers, it is time to turn the attention to the world of servers. ASUS was the launch partner for Intel's newest C200 server chipset which is the server equivalent of Sandy Bridge. The chipset is codenamed Bromolow and the first motherboard using it is now available. The P8B-X serverboard is available to purchase and supports both dual and quad-core Sandy Bridge processors. It features an LGA1155 socket and plenty of PCIe 2.0 lanes for any add-in cards your server needs. Bromolow series motherboards routinely perform about 25% faster than previous generations. There are two high quality LAN controllers which support IPv6 and backwards compatibilty with IPv4.
