Netherlands doesn't like Google Street View
The Dutch Data Protection Authority has threatened Google with new penalties of up to $1.4 million over its collection of MAC addresses while gathering data for its Street View mapping service. To date, this would be the largest fine levied against Google related to Street View. Google has collected the MAC addresses from over 3.6 million Dutch Wi-Fi routers while it has been taking street-level photographs of Dutch streets. The Dutch DPA contends that these addresses, each of which is unique to a specific router, constitutes personal data, and that Google should give the router owners an option to opt-out . If Google does not comply within three months, then the maximum penalty would be levied.

Portal 2 finally arrives for PC and consoles
Valve Software has released Portal 2, a sequel to a game originally bundled with The Orange Box in 2007. Portal 2 differs not only in being a separate retail product, but also a full-length title rather than a small side-project. RIM BlackBerry PlayBook released
The RIM Blackberry PlayBook is now on sale in the US of A and Canada, hitting stores with a mixed bag of critical reviews. Selling for $499 for a 16GB/Wi-Fi model, RIM is hoping to break into the tablet market still dominated by the Apple iPad. The PlayBook features the standard 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM, but its real differentiating factor is its Internet experience. The browser has support for Adobe Flash, Adobe AIR, and HMTL 5 out of the box, and many reviews say it is the best browser on a tablet, ever.

Intel reports record quartal revenue again
Seasonal patterns, 6 Series chipset problems - they were both there in Q1 but couldn't keep Intel down as the company recorded a record revenue of $12.8 billion - up 12% sequentially and up 25% on-year and a net income of $3.2 billion - flat sequentially but up 29% over Q1 2010.
