Court Imposes Limits on Class Actions
Guess what? The Supreme Court says that, if you sign a contract with your phone provider that states you agree to arbitration to settle disputes, you can't file a class action lawsuit.

The Supreme Court has made it harder for consumers who want to dispute their contracts for cell phones, cable television and other services to band together to make their claims. The court, in a 5-4 ruling Wednesday, invalidated a California law that kept consumers out of contractually-obligated arbitration with businesses.

Apple: We'll Fix iPhone Tracking 'Bug'
Yeah, it's a bug. Unless someone on the iPhone development team actually has the name "bug," this isn't the fault of a bug. Anyhow, Apple says they will fix the "bug" with a patch soon.

"Apple is not tracking the location of your iPhone. Apple has never done so and has no plans to ever do so," the FAQ says. But the company did admit that it may be storing too much information about users' location. And it said it will soon fix this in a software release.

MySpace For Sale In The Bargain Bin
MySpace is for sale and its parent company is only asking one sixth what it paid for the kiddy playground back in 2005.

Beleaguered social networking site MySpace may have a new owner by the end of the week. The Wall Street Journal has reported that News. Corp is seeking $100 million for MySpace. The sale is expected to attract bids from a variety investment firms and companies who may seek the buy parts or the whole of MySpace.

Hulu Plus Coming to Xbox 360 Friday?
According to the folks at OXM, Hulu Plus is coming to Xbox 360 on April 29th. The console already has Netflix and Zune streaming service, not sure what Hulu Plus will bring to the table.

The June issue of OXM have been spotted that claim the service will launch April 29th, kicking off a month-long giveaway of items including vacations, game systems and Hulu Plus subscriptions to random users.

Nokia Axes 7,000 Jobs to Slash Costs
Bad news if you work for Nokia. The company says it is cutting 7,000 jobs in an attempt to save almost $1.5 billion in costs.

Nokia, the world's largest phone maker by volume, on Wednesday detailed an overhaul of its phone business following its decision to start using Microsoft software instead of its own Symbian platform. The move includes laying off 4,000 staff and transferring another 3,000 to services firm Accenture - a total 12 percent of its phone unit workforce.

California To Generate Electricity Using Rush Hour Traffic?
It looks like California (of all places) might be the first state to use piezoelectric generation to convert road vibrations into actual electricity. The idea isn't new but the fact that no new tax money is required and they can be installed during regular road maintenance, this bill might have a shot at passing.

My bill takes existing money that was set aside years ago for creative projects just like this. It does not use any new tax dollars," according to Gatto. "The money is already there, and we're only going to do this when the roads are set for their regularly rescheduled re-paving. We're not going to tear up any roads, we're just going to stick the technology underneath the roads when they're scheduled for paving anyway.
