CeBIT 2011: AMD is pushing Radeon HD 6990
We were among a few lucky ones that were allowed to touch a new dual GPU beast from AMD, and as expected, we were impressed. As you can see on pictures, ventilation is changed, as the fan is moved to the center, and now is sucking air and pushing it out of the case at one side, and back to case on the other side. Grid for air ventilation on a case side is now full size of the board as all the video output connectors are moved out of the way. This change and elimination of obstacles on the other side made new cooler much more efficient and quieter, despite the fact it is using the same fan as the one on the AMD Radeon HD 5970.

CeBIT 2011: Llano to hit the shelves in second part of the year
At CeBIT 2011, AMD had a few interesting news to share. Most of the stuff is under NDA but we managed to scrap few bit of info we can share with you. PS3 banned in Europe
Sony encountered a major setback yesterday after LG landed a preliminary injunction banning the PlayStation 3 from sales in Europe. A civil court in The Hague ruled that any PS3s imported into the continent have to be confiscated by government officials for at least the next 10 days. The Guardian claimed that the Netherlands, often a point of import for all of Europe, had already taken tens of thousands of PS3s and that Sony stood to see hundreds of thousands of the consoles blocked from reaching shelves. LG is embroiled in a patent dispute over Blu-ray that has extended worldwide, including Europe and the US, and has used the PS3 as a leverage tactic to push for a settlement. The complaint itself was a response to Sony suing LG over phone patents.

CeBIT 2011: MSI pre-opening press conference
We used to look forward to these press conferences prior to opening of CeBIT, because it's a great opportunity to see new stuff. With this MSI conference it was a bit different, but we managed to grab a few interesting informations. Besides new line of gaming notebooks, which they clame to be the fastest one alive we also saw their new line of tablets, one powered by one of the AMD Brazos APUs, which was really a surprise after AMD clamings that they will not enter this market. The revelation of the Intel new Z chipset, and MSI motherboard based upon it was also announced, as well as their new Big Bang Marshal 83 motherboard based on Intel P67 chipset that utilizes no less then eight x16 PCI Express slots (no, it is not a mistype). As always, AMD was one of the topics, and MSI announced that their new motherboards that will have support for Buldozer based CPUs will be equiped with black AM3 socket, which will be their recognition sign.
