Sprint urges U.S. to block AT&T/T-Mobile deal
Sprint Nextel has vowed to fight AT&T's proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA, calling the deal a bid to create a new telecommunications duopoly. "Sprint urges the United States government to block this anti-competitive acquisition. McAfee's website full of security holes, researcher says
The McAfee.com website is full of security mistakes that could lead to cross-site scripting and other attacks, researchers said in a post on the Full Disclosure site on Monday. The holes with the site were found by the YGN Ethical Hacker Group, and reported to McAfee on Feb. 10, YGN says, before they were publicly disclosed to the security/hacking mailing list.

Intel SSD line doubles capacity, drops price
Intel announced today a new line of consumer-class SSD (solid state drives) based on its smallest 25 nanometer (nm) circuitry that replace the chip-maker's long-selling and most popular SSD, the X25-M. The new 2.5-in. Intel Solid-State Drive 320 Series offers models that more than triple capacity over the X25-M and reduces price by up to 30 percent, or $100, on some models. While aimed at the laptop and desktop market, the consumer SSD has also been Intel's most popular model for servers in data centers.

ISO finalizes C++ update
The widely used C++ programming language is about to be updated, as the ISO steering committee for the language has approved the final draft specifying its next version. The ISO/IEC Information Technology Task Force (ITTF) will review the steering committee's Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) will review and, barring any complications, publish the draft later this year. It will be known as C++ 2011.
