Lucid Hydra Performance Review
Make sure you guys head over to PC Perspective today and check out their Lucid Hydra performance review, it is definitely interesting stuff. Here is a snippet from the full article: The potential is there, but we just haven't seen enough of it yet. The idea is compelling, but the current implementations are still behind the curve when being compared to native Crossfire or SLI products. It is a good start, but I would argue that the technology is still a bit immature. This hopefully will change. I cannot reiterate enough that the potential for this technology is outstanding, but delivering upon that promise is going to be a challenge. Comments

Making Twitter More Secure: HTTPS
According to the official Twitter blog, users now have the ability to switch to HTTPS full time. Not sure why they are waiting but the company says they have plans to make HTTPS the default setting in the future. To turn on HTTPS, go to your settings and check the box next to "Always use HTTPS," which is at the bottom of the page. This will improve the security of your account and better protect your information if you're using Twitter over an unsecured Internet connection, like a public WiFi network, where someone may be able to eavesdrop on your site activity. In the future, we hope to make HTTPS the default setting. Comments

You mean to tell me that this kid was arrested even though the party never happened? The way the police are acting, you'd think the girl was royalty or something. Police say an Australian teenager hijacked a girl's Facebook page and posted an open invitation to her 16th birthday party that drew more than 200,000 positive replies. Police Inspector Terry Dalton says, "The only thing that anybody who turns up on that street will be met by will be some police vehicles patrolling the area." Comments

Media Piracy In Emerging Economies
The Social Science Research Council has published a new report on piracy. The findings? Prices are too high, antipiracy education has failed, enforcement hasn't worked, competition is good and changing the law is easy. Based on three years of work by some thirty-five researchers, Media Piracy in Emerging Economies tells two overarching stories: one tracing the explosive growth of piracy as digital technologies became cheap and ubiquitous around the world, and another following the growth of industry lobbies that have reshaped laws and law enforcement around copyright protection. The report argues that these efforts have largely failed, and that the problem of piracy is better conceived as a failure of affordable access to media in legal markets. Comments

White House to Push Privacy Bill
According to the Wall Street Journal, the current administration is planning to ask Congress to pass a "privacy bill of rights" to protect the public from unauthorized and intrusive data gathering. The administration's plan to push for legislation reflects a shifting attitude by the government, which for more than a decade favored a hands-off approach to the Internet. GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1 GB Round-Up
The crew at Neoseeker have rounded up a couple GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1 GB video cards today and put them to the test. Here's a quote from the full review: The GTX 550 Ti is positioned in a very price sensitive segment of the market, as is the case with all sub $200 graphics cards. This is because casual and mainstream gamers alike tend to look for the best performing product at the lowest price point possible. Also, graphics cards in this segment tend to have a four year upgrade cycle, which makes long term performance extremely important. Comments
