Firefox 4.0 RC expected on February 25
Back in January Mozilla was promising to deliver the final build of Firefox 4.0 by the end of February, but now we're pass the middle of the month and the company still has one more beta to roll out before getting to the Release Candidates. As of February 15th, Mozilla's team still had 22 hard blockers that required fixing before finishing the first RC and while everyone is on overdrive, this means more delays for the already delayed Firefox 4.

Enermax prepares high-end CPU cooler for CeBIT 2011
Beside the already announced ECA5020 and the ECA3230 high-end cases, Enermax's CeBIT booth is set to have on display a few fresh cooling products including two T.B.Silence fans and a high performance CPU cooler. The incoming T.B.Silence fans include a 4-pin connector allowing for automatic speed control but will also enable manual control to please enthusiasts who want to tweak everything in their systems. Both new fans are set to become available soon after the show in Hannover which is scheduled for March 1st to 5th.

Toshiba releases STOR.E ART 4 external drives
Toshiba Europe has this week announced a new addition to its storage offer, the STOR.E ART 4 line of external portable hard drives which features a high gloss black finish and USB 3.0 connectivity. The fresh drives have an embedded shock sensor to ensure higher data retention, and come pre-loaded with the NTI BackupNow EZ software enables data backup and data protection through 256-bit data encryption.

BlackBerry Bold Touch appears in photos
RIM's BlackBerry Bold Touch has surfaced in the real world for the first time in a leak showing what's likely now its finished form. It's now known for certain to have a 2.8-inch, 640x480 touchscreen and to have a compass to go along with its other motion sensors. The final version spotted by N4BB is also now more upscale: it still has a metal frame from a prototype but now has a carbon fiber (or carbon-effect) back.

Acer prepares Windows Phone 7 smartphones for 2011
In 2010 Acer had almost nothing but Android devices, releasing multiple smartphones powered by Google's OS, but this year, as promised by the president of Acer's Smart Handheld Business Group, it will also introduce devices based on Windows Phone 7. Acer has previously confirmed its work with Windows Phone 7 but has yet to commit to the platform with an actual announcement. In fact, this week at the Mobile World Congress the company revealed yet another Android phone (Iconia Smart) so a WP7 release is not expected to soon.

Google Docs now displays Photoshop and AutoCAD files
Google gave Google Docs its first real file format update with 12 new standards. The release supports an Apple-specific format for the first time and will let users read Pages documents in-browser. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop images also now work, and modelling gets its first support through recognition of Autodesk's AutoCAD. Other updates bring Excel support, including XLSX files. Google will now see XML Paper Specification files and can recognize more narrowly focused formats such as SVG images or PostScript and TrueType fonts.

Intel criticizes Nokia for choosing WP7 over Android
Intel has said this week that it is actively searching for a new partner for its MeeGo operating system, after Nokia dropped support last week. The company claims Microsoft offered incredible amounts of money to Nokia to have them switch over to Windows Phone 7 as their smartphone operating system of choice. CEO Paul Otellini was even bold enough to say had he been in charge, he would have chosen Android over WP7, even though both Google and Microsoft offered substantial amounts of money.

New Gigabyte Fusion motherboard ships in Europe
Those who've been waiting for AMD's Fusion vision to become a reality will be pleased that Gigabyte's first motherboard based on the Brazos platform, the GA-E350N-USB3, has found its way into European stores. The GA-E350N-USB3 is blue like most Gigabyte boards but stands out since it comes equipped with one of AMD's first so called accelerated processing units , the 40nm-built E-350 which utilizes two x86 Bobcat cores clocked at 1.6 GHz and DirectX 11-supporting Radeon HD 6310 graphics.

Lenovo LePad goes global in June
Lenovo's long-awaited LePad tablet, which made appearances both at CES 2010 and CES 2011, is almost ready to take on the wave of Android-based devices and the iPad, its market debut being planned for next month. Lenovo, who's the fourth-largest PC manufacturer, will first introduce the LePad in China, but plans to launch it globally in June, probably around Computex 2011.
