AMD releases weaker HD 6000 Series cards
AMD has added three more cards that will be a part of its HD 6000 series OEM offer (for now), the HD 6450, HD 6570 and the HD 6670. These cards are based on a completely new 40nm Caicos and Turks chips. The slowest is the HD 6450, based on the entry-level AMD Caicos chip and features 160 VLIW5 stream processors, a 64-bit memory interface and works with both GDDR5 and DDR3 memory. The GPU clock for the HD 6450 will be set between 625MHz and 750MHz while the 512MB to 1GB of memory will end up clocked between 533 and 800MHz for DDR3 and 800 to 900MHz for GDDR5 versions. It is important to note that the Cedar predecessor had half the amount of shaders so the new HD 6450 is a nice addition to the lineup.
