Comedian That Asked For $1M On YouTube = Hoax
The comedian that asked for a million dollars on YouTube and supposedly got it...was lying...because its funny to lie. Ummm, yeah. The videos went viral, Craig went on TV and international news teams were dispatching crews to cover his amazing story, which he maintained was completely real. Then at the end of the check-handing-over ceremony on Wednesday night, Rowin burned the check on stage and revealed it was all a hoax and the "investment banker millionaire" was an actor he had hired. Sorry, dreams. Comments

Netflix Rises as Studios' DVD Money Plunges
Netflix is kicking ass while the DVD is on a downward spiral. The only people that don't seem to understand why this is happening is the movie studios. Netflix now has 20 million total subscribers, a 60 percent year-over-year increase. If Hollywood wants to know where the DVD money went, this would be a good place to start looking. It shouldn't be hard to figure out that Netflix is thriving because it provides consumers with what they want: convenience, control, and a good price. For $7.99 a month, a Netflix subscriber gets access to all of the service's streaming content. That's just a better deal, when a single DVD often costs twice that amount. Comments

ASUS GeForce GTX 570
According to Overclocker Club's review of the ASUS GeForce GTX 570, not only is this card a solid performer at stock settings, it is a great overclocker too. The ASUS GTX 570 is a factory overclocked card, so I had high hopes for the clock speeds that this one would reach. NVIDIA's reference GTX 570 was able to reach clock speeds of 785MHz. Seeing as the ASUS GTX 570 was clocked just 43MHz below this, I knew it was going to surpass the reference overclock. In the end, we were able to up the core clock to an impressive 933MHz. Comments

To scour the globe for archaeological sites these days all you need is a desktop computer. Almost two thousand potential archaeological sites in Saudi Arabia have been discovered from an office chair in Perth, Australia, thanks to high-resolution satellite images from Google Earth. Verizon Throttles Data Hogs
I guess the big question here is this...are you in the top five percent? I have a sneaky feeling that, if anyone was in the top 5%, it would be you guys. Thanks to cbags101 for the link. On Thursday we now know there's a catch. If you're in the top 5 percent of Verizon's data users, you'll be throttled. Verizon announced the change in a note on its Website (PDF link). Once you've crossed the 5 percent threshold, Verizon will reduce your data speeds "periodically ... at locations and times of peak demand" through the next billing cycle. Comments

Thermalright Shaman GPU Cooler
If you need an aftermarket cooler to keep your GPU temps under control, make sure you check out today's evaluation of the Thermalright Shaman GPU cooler. Hit the link to see how well this massive cooler performed when we strapped it to a smoking hot video card. Today we look at the Shaman from Thermalright. Its name fitting, thanks to the magic it must perform to handle the heat from the hottest GPU around; the GTX 480 and the newer GTX 580. To do this it employs no less than eight heat pipes and a massive (for a GPU) 140mm fan. We are also going to test for any collateral damage. That is, the interior temps of our case and if the CPU is affected by the different coolers. The stage is set, let's get to it. Comments
