uWrite Touch's Wireless USB LCD Could be Best PC Remote Control Ever

Classroom and presentation applications at the heart of their target audience, uWrite Touch's new Engage WirelessLCD wants to bust out of the digital whiteboard box. Controlling a PC with a full fledged monitor couldn't be more intuitive. With a battery life of 3.5 hours, you can complete 3 classroom courses or 4 client pitches. An extended battery will be available for purchase if your needs require more endurance. The touchscreen display only has a 1024x600 resolution but this can be augmented by a second display device attached to the host computer. The Certified Wireless USB connection is handled by a small USB transmitter. Not a native plug-n-play device, you will need to use the included driver CD to install the LCD as a display. Effective range should be between 20 and 30 feet depending on physical and wireless interference. This relatively short range will limit its applications to smaller venues. Automatic pairing with the USB transmitter make this device much easier to support than ones that require wireless network connections. Pricing hasn't been released but this will likely be need to be negotiated in bulk and not be a consumer solution just yet. SoundGraph has a similar WUSB monitor except this one is more like a glorified touchscreen remote for HTPC.

Iomega eGo BlackBelt 1TB USB 3.0 Drive Going for Only $96

We to admit that we have a certain fondness for Iomega eGo external drives. For the most part it is not their USB 3.0 interface that we love (though this is always nice); nor is it the funky good looks. It is not even that kick arse power grip band that laughs off blunt force traumas. To be honest what we love the most about the eGo's is their price! Take the Iomega eGo BlackBelt USB 3.0 1TB, which not only boasts 1TB of external storage capacity in an itty-bitty form factor (as it uses a 2.5" hard drive) and USB 3.0 interface, but also an amazingly good price of only $96 (Buy.com). Other stores want over $128 for the drive. Granted, for the same (or less), you could get a 3.5" based external drive with twice the space; but unlike those big boys, the Iomega eGo BlackBelt USB 3.0 1TB doesn't need an external power supply! Since it is 2.5" hard drive based it can get all the power it needs from the USB bus. This makes its footprint even smaller and makes the Iomega eGo BlackBelt 1TB all the more portable.
