Recording The Police, Go To Jail
Temped to record the police the next time you get pulled over? I'd think twice about that, you might end up in jail. The authorities say that Mr. Drew and Ms. Moore audio-recorded their separate nonviolent encounters with Chicago police officers without the officers' permission, a Class 1 felony in Illinois, which, along with Massachusetts and Oregon, has one of the country's toughest, if rarely prosecuted, eavesdropping laws. Now that he is no longer the comapny's CEO, the Wall Street Journal has put together a list of "creepy" quotes from senior Schmidt that you should check out. Here's a good one: Google policy is to get right up to the creepy line but not cross it. I would argue that implanting things in your brain is beyond the creepy line. At least for the moment, until the technology gets better. Comments

Woman Hangs Up on $10,000 Call from Apple
Congratulations, you are the winner ofÂ…..Hello?...Hello? Apple's contest to find the 10 billionth downloader is finally over and the $10K prize was about to be awarded to the lucky winner. The only glitch was the lucky winner hung up on Eddy Cue, VP of iTunes, thinking he was a telemarketer. You might wonder why Cue himself didn't make the call. It could have been because it had, indeed, been Cue, rather than a telemarketer, who had made the original call and received a polite British brush-off. Comments
