Because T-Mobile and Sprint use different wireless standards, their tablets will also support competing technologies. T-Mobile's tablet will run on HSPA+ while Sprint's tablet will support WiMAX. To date, neither Sprint nor T-Mobile have offered any details concerning the tablets, so OS, price, release date, and manufacturers are still unknown.

The Patriot Supersonic series eliminates performance bottlenecks introduced when using a separate USB 3.0 bridge chip by integrating a native USB 3.0 flash memory controller. This results in a smaller footprint and higher performance than bridge based solutions. The drive is housed in aluminum and is quite shock-resistant. It will ship in 32GB and 64GB versions, offering sequential read speeds of up to 100MB/s and write rates as high as 70MB/s. No pricing is listed at the moment, but it's probably safe to expect a price premium to follow these speed increases.

Jawbone THOUGHTS Puts A Voice-Related Twist Into Texting
Have you ever wished you could send a text, without typing anything? Texting and driving is a huge distraction, and there are lots of times where only a text will do, but actually stopping to type something out just isn't convenient. What if you could simply speak, and a text would be created and sent? That's now possible so long as you have an iPhone. Jawbone has just released the THOUGHTS application into the iOS store, which allows users to easily send quick voice messages to individuals and groups, without typing or calling. The application combines the speed of texting, the group collaboration of email, and the emotional quality of voice all in one.
It's totally free in the iOS App Store, and it allows users to send 60 seconds of voice message to anyone in their contact list, or a group. There's no need to stop what you're doing; just speak into the iPhone or a Jawbone ICON headset. THOUGHTS can send the message in the user's own voice, so there's no chance of it being misunderstood or mis-translated.
Contacts with the THOUGHTS app will receive the message in THOUGHTS and recipients without the application will receive a link to the audio message via text or email. The asynchronous design of the application allows the sender to share a Thought at the time of the idea and the recipient to listen and reply when convenient for them. THOUGHTS' interactive interface allows users to hold multiple discussions at once – automatically organizing conversations as users reply and allowing recipients to quickly and easily see who said what and when. Additionally, for situations when a user may prefer to read a message (in a restaurant or meeting), THOUGHTS can transcribe the audio message instantly into text.

Jawbone THOUGHTS Combines the Power of Voice with the Efficiency of Text
Jawbone's New iPhone App Lets Users Send Voice Messages Instantly Without Calling
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Dec. 9 – Jawbone, the leader in personal mobile technology, today unveiled Jawbone THOUGHTS, an iPhone application that allows users to easily send quick voice messages to individuals and groups, without typing or calling. The application combines the speed of texting, the group collaboration of email, and the emotional quality of voice all in one. Available as a free download in the Apple App store, THOUGHTS is the latest innovation from Jawbone.
"We live in a world that is 100% mobile, 100% connected and unfortunately 150% distracted. Reading and typing doesn't work when you need your hands and eyes to navigate the physical world. While there has been a tremendous amount of innovation in text based messaging, all of it lacks the richness of voice," explains Travis Bogard, Vice President of Product Management and Strategy at Jawbone. "THOUGHTS is our solution to these realities by integrating all the things we love from text-based communications with the power of voice. We think it's a really powerful way to share ideas quickly."
With Jawbone THOUGHTS, users can send a "Thought," which is a voice message up to one minute in length, by simply selecting a contact or group, speaking into an iPhone or Jawbone ICON headset, and tapping POST – no more stopping whatever you're doing, no more typing long messages on cramped keyboards. And because Jawbone THOUGHTS sends messages in the user's own voice, there's no need to re-explain or run the risk of a message being misconstrued.
Sometimes messages are better spoken than written. THOUGHTS reintroduces emotion and personality into mobile communication. Users can sing a birthday song, congratulate a colleague, joke around with friends, coordinate a dinner, or share big news with all the people they care about, such as "We're having a baby!" Nothing conveys information more personally and sincerely than the human voice.
Jawbone THOUGHTS is the ultimate collaboration tool that allows a user to send a message to anyone in their phone's address book.
Jawbone THOUGHTS is free to install and available online at the Apple iPhone® App store and at mytalk.jawbone.com. To learn more about Jawbone THOUGHTS, go to Jawbone.com/thoughts.

Novatel Sues ZTE And Franklin Over MiFi Patents
Ever heard of a Mobile HotSpot? Chances are you'll be familiar with the MiFi if so, which has sparked a new revolution of devices. Novatel Wireless is the company that created the MiFi, and now they're upset that a couple of other companies have come out with products that are just too similar. These days, companies are suing the pants off of one another, and with technology advancing so quickly, it's no surprise that some companies are borrowing ideas rather than creating their own.
Novatel has filed suit again Franklin Wireless and ZTE for infringing on five Novatel Wireless' patents related to key architecture and functionality of the MiFi family of Intelligent Mobile Hotspots. The suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and it's obviously because both ZTE and Franklin have mobile hotspots of their own. Peter Leparulo, Chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless, had this to say: "Novatel Wireless invented the MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot and with that created a whole new product category in the wireless ecosystem. We're confident that we will continue to lead the market, but competitors need to rely on their own inventions rather than infringe on ours."
Those are fighting words for sure, and with the incredible growth and success of the MiFi, we figure this battle will go on for quite some time.

Pandigital 8" Connected Digital Photo Frame Joins AT&T Network
Digital photo frames just don't have the buzz that they once did. A couple of years ago, they were *the* holiday gift to give. Now, just about everyone that needs or wants one has one, so the hype surrounding them has died down. But now, companies are trying new tricks to market old devices. Pandigital's new photo frame is joining AT&T's network, with the Pandigital Photo Mail 8" Digital Photo Frame being one of the few digital frames that can download photos over the air as long as you can get AT&T reception.
The wirelessly-connected digital photo frame displays photos emailed directly to its dedicated email address. Customers can share that address with family and friends to allow them to send photos directly to the frame from their own email account – whether it's from a computer, smartphone or any other email-enabled device. But that comes at a price. The frame is on sale starting today for $119.99, but that price does include the ability to receive 60 photos at no additional cost.  Additional photo allotments may be purchased directly from Pandigital: 100 for $9.99, 400 for $29.99 and 700 for $49.99. This seems like a better alternative to paying a monthly fee.
Customers are alerted by the frame when new photos are emailed to its dedicated email address by friends and family so that they may quickly accept the photos in a single step to then begin enjoying them. Because the frames can receive photos from a smart phone or other email-enabled device, photos can be sent from virtually anywhere, even on-the-go. As for specifications, the unit has a 6-in-1 media card reader as well as a Wi-Fi module. It has an 8" display with a LED-backlit panel (800x600), 1GB of internal memory, and support for AVI video clips/MP3 music files. There's even a real wood frame to add a touch of class, so if you still know someone know needs a digital frame, this might be the one.
