Author Against eBook Piracy, Outed As a Music Pirate
Now this would be embarrassing as hell, wouldn't it? Some author, crying about eBook piracy during an interview, was busted by her son for having a stash of 1800 pirated MP3s. As part of an article investigating the growing phenomenon of eBook piracy, a Scandinavian news outlet interviewed a 19 year-old self-confessed pirate who bragged about his activities. To counter his viewpoint a well known author contributed to the piece, stating that she abhors book piracy since it costs her huge amounts of money. Yahoo Preparing to Lay Off 700 Workers
It looks like the layoff rumors were true, as many as 700 Yahoo employees are getting the axe for Christmas. Employees could be notified of the job cuts as early as Tuesday, according to a person familiar with Yahoo's plans. The person asked for anonymity because Yahoo hadn't made a formal announcement. The planned cutbacks represent about 5 percent of Yahoo's work force of 14,100 employees. It will mark Yahoo's fourth mass layoff in the past three years. Comments
