Samsung Galaxy YP-GB1 PMP to Make Appearance in CES 2011

In what is shaping up to when one interesting CES show in the coming year, another entry into the realm of PMP has been revealed. It appears as if Samsung is going to expand their great Galaxy S smartphones to include a media player version. Much like Apple did with their iPod touch 4 and iPhone 4, the Samsung Galaxy Player YP-GB1 will be based of similar specs of that of the other Galaxy S' including an Android 2.2 OS and have access to the Android and Samsung app marketplace. While the 4-inch 800x480 SuperLCD should be decent, it is a shame that the screen will not be AMOLED based. While it will lack cell phone connectivity the built-in WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities should make making calls via VoIP extremely easy. The 9.9mm thick Galaxy YP-GB1 also matches iPod touch 4's features with HD video recording as well as a a 3.2MP camera and a front-facing VGA camera. Where it is expected to be unveiled at CES 2011 next month, there is no word on pricing or even expected release date, but knowing Samsung the YP-GB1 wont be too far off!

Gigabyte's Ambitious K8100 Aivia Gaming Keyboard

Gigabyte is certainly no stranger to gaming peripherals - as they do make some killer gaming mice and keyboards at killer prices - so it comes as no surprise that they have finally created one of the first keyboards designed from the ground up with gaming in mind! Unlike the Logitech G510, MS Sidewinder X6, various Razer keyboards, etc which are labeled as gaming keyboards, the Gigabyte Aviva K8100 has literally be designed from the ground up to help improve your gaming prowess. Some of the coolest features this bad boy boasts is its properly angled wrist rest which is designed to be USED during gaming and its keys which requires different amounts of pressure to activate based on where they are (the keys you "mash" on require more force than the ones you hit with your pinkie); though its back-lighting, GHOST macro engine (with 5 G-Keys) and included spare rubberized W,A,S,D keys are right up there! Sadly while it even boasts a touch sensitive volume bar the K8100 gaming keyboard is based off of shorter lived dome keys and not mechanical keys. All in all, it is a great gaming keyboard and with a MSRP of a moderate $70 - $80 (depending on whether you want the black, red or yellow version) it is actually pretty reasonably priced considering all the engineering that went into it.
