Apple has delayed the white iPhone 4 until spring 2011
Apple has always had a problem with getting both colors of the iPhone out at once - and the iPhone 4 is no exception.

Apple has officially pushed back a white-colored release of the iPhone 4 until spring 2011 - they won't say why, but there have supposedly been manufacturing issues from day one.
By the time spring 2011 comes around (Q2 2011) we might be looking at a 5th generation of iPhone... do you think the white iPhone 4 will even see the light of day? See what I did there? Light, day, white? Yeah, I went there.

The Playstation Phone makes its presence felt
The Playstation Phone has been circling around the rumor mill since August, but now itÂ’s seems thereÂ’s some hard evidence that itÂ’s coming. Engadget has gotten their hands on a slew of pictures of the new device, likely coming in early 2011.

Apparently figuring that the PSP Go doesnÂ’t appeal to a broad enough audience, the Playstation Phone is Android based (reportedly running Gingerbread) and is based around a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU. 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, a screen between 3.7 to 4.1 inches make up the technical specs. Notably absent is the use of SonyÂ’s Memory Stick, with the Playstation Phone going to microSD for storage.
The leaked unit is still an early (and very buggy) prototype, but itÂ’s a fun looking device; especially with the funky looking trackpad in the middle. These leaks usually pour faster once theyÂ’ve started, so weÂ’re sure thereÂ’s more to come. Check out more pics at the Source Link.

Web-based stores that accept Paypal will find the system easy to implement into their stores, and merchants may also be able to accept credit cards through Mobile Express Checkout in 2011. The beta has been very successful, with many companies reporting double-digit sales growth since adding the feature.

iDOS emulator appears, then quickly disappears from App Store
iOS fans had the brief opportunity to score a sweet app this morning before Apple quickly pulled it away. iDOS, a DOS based emulator, was briefly released and then yanked from the Apple Store, but not before quite a few people got their hands on it and were using it do run things like Windows 3.0 and some old school Space Quest.

While IÂ’m sure many of you are pretty gleeful at the thought of Steve Jobs tripping out about Windows running on an iPhone, there is precedent for the app being pulled due to it being able to interpret and run executable code. If you werenÂ’t one of the lucky few to get your hands on the app, youÂ’ll have to turn to either a jailbreak or a developer account to get it going via the sourcecode here.

Updated Apple Store app includes white iPhone 4 reservations
Apple has made the first update to their official App Store app today, and with the update the unicorn of the iPhone loverÂ’s world appeared: the white iPhone 4.

White iPhone 4 reservations aren’t reportedly working currently; giving users a message stating “Because of high demand, we are not currently taking iPhone reservations.” This does bring hope that the white iPhone 4 will make an appearance soon to those who have been waiting. Reasons for the delay have mostly been manufacturing related, although some believe that Apple are waiting for a revised iPhone 4 with less antenna problems to roll out in white.

Android market now has over 100k apps - still sparring with Apple
Google's Android is slowly getting popular, with the help of multiple handsets it is gaining traction throughout the world as competition for the once lone soldier of the battlefield, Apple's iPhone.

Google has announced it has hit the 100, 000 apps milestone - surpassing the number of apps on competing stores from BlackBerry, Nokia or Palm. Even with 100k apps, they're still number 2 in the market, to the iPhone with over 300k.
It has taken Google 20 months to get to the 100k milestone, where it took Apple 16 months to get to the same 100k mark. The more popular the Market gets, the more work Google will have to do to it's Market to keep everything in good order. Consider that it takes a developer and average of 6 minutes to get an App into the Market, compared to *four days* on Apple's App Store - how is it that Google are falling behind in the number of Apps they host?
A few things can slow this, for instance, Apple currently allows developers to sell apps through their App Store in almost 100 countries - meanwhile, the Android Market is only available in 46 countries. Out of these 46 countries, only 13 countries can purchase apps (the other 33 can only download FREE apps).
Both stores are difficult to navigate, each has their strong parts, but at the same time they're both not the easiest to use or find the App you're after unless it's popular. Hopefully, as these micro-transactions are getting more and more popular, we'll see a change in both stores, only time will tell.

Nintendo puts its Wii Remote in 65.3 million hands
Nintendo has been busy the last few months with the celebration surrounding the 25th birthday for Mario and for the original Nintendo game system. Nintendo is offering up some sales details on the Wii and its accessories to show off how many units it has moved even if the popularity of the Wii is waning today. The number of controllers sold by Nintendo is impressive.

According to the gaming company, it has sold 46,000 Wii Remotes daily in the US. It has moved a total of 65.3 million Wii Remotes so far in the US alone. That number would be much higher if sales globally were figured into the numbers. Nintendo trys to give an idea of how many controllers 65.3 million actually is with some illustrations. The most interesting is that 65.3 million is enough to give one to every person living in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, San Jose, Detroit and San Francisco, and enough still remains for every resident of Florida, Ohio, Virginia and North Dakota.
That is huge amount of controllers. Nintendo breaks the numbers down a bit to tell how they were purchased. People that bought the Wii console purchased 30.41 million of the Remotes. 12.92 million remotes came with Wii Play and 18.56 million white remotes were purchased alone. So far, 2.44 million black remotes have been purchased and 467,500 pink remotes have been purchased along with 645,200 blue remotes. The number of Nunchuk controllers sold comes to 52.9 million.

Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac hits beta
If you are looking forward to getting your hands on a new Windows Phone 7 smartphone when they hit the market soon and use Mac, you may have worried how you were going to synchronize the phone and connect it to the computer. Considering the smartphone is a Microsoft OS device that would be an understandable worry. Microsoft has announced that the software needed for Mac users is now in beta.

The Mac app is called Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. The app is available at the Windows Download Center and the Mac must be running OS 10.5 Leopard or higher to use the software. If your Mac meets those specs, you can grab it to allow sync of music, photos, video, and podcasts from iTunes and iPhoto to the WinPo 7 device.
MacRumors points out an important fact, we can assume that if you purchased content via iTunes the DRM in the files will prevent the content from synchronizing to the Windows device. The file isn't that large at 5MB and the estimated download time on a 56K modem is only 13 minutes.

Icy Box Announces IB-SAFE226 Enclosure for 2.5'' HDD/SSDs with 256-bit Encryption
Icy Box Announces IB-SAFE226 Enclosure for 2.5'' HDD/SSDs with 256-bit Encryption
Public authorities, tax accountants, CPAs, and hospitals – only a few examples for a realm where customer data are highly confidential. Particularly awkward is carrying such data e. g. on an external HDD. For users, who want to protect the data entrusted, here is a safe, practical as well as reasonably priced solution.
In the new ICY BOX IB-SAFE226, an external enclosure, an AES-256 encryption protects the data on the 2.5” SATA HDD. The user needs a physical key and the enclosure with its special chipset. To decrypt the HDD he needs the same key and an appropriate enclosure. Without the key: nothing. So you better do not keep the key too close to the enclosure.

Each key is individual. Only two of each are made. Combined with the chipset of the IB-SAFE226, it blocks the starter in the cache of the HDD. So you can leave the HDD unwatched for a moment. It only has be encrypted.
As the hardware is encrypted, the speed of the data transfer is unaffected. AES-256 means Advnaced Encryption Standard. The algorithm has a block size of 128 bits and a key length of 256 bits. AE-256 is approved by the US government for “top secret” information.
What is helpful for professional users is also useful in the private area. Eventually itÂ’s all about privacy. The recommended retail price of euro 49.00 including tax is close to nothing compared to the priceless value of some data.
Product Highlights:
• External enclosure for one 2.5" SATA HDD
• AES-256-Bit real-time hardware encryption
• highest US government "top secret" standard of data security
