Today I will be looking at the latest version of USB headphones by Logitech: the G930 wireless gaming headset. Besides being wireless do these cans have any other tricks up their sleeves? Wireless USB 1.1 Finalized - Now What?


It was back in late 2007 since we've heard of Wireless USB 1.1. So the spec - now finished - is now more than three years late. The spec is seen as an incremental upgrade that delivers several improvements in power consumption, performance and device pairing process. Some notable features include lower idle power requirement; near field communication (NFC); proximity-based associate; and support for UWB band frequency of 6Ghz and above. There is already a short list of Wireless USB 1.0-compliant devices including 1080p HD video streamer, hard drive, adapter kit. Despite of the said improvements, there is just too much competition from WiFi and Bluetooth. The two mature connectivity standards have already established their place in various markets. That kind of leaves little room for Certified Wireless USB, especially since a very few notebooks even have WUSB built-in.
