Gmail to counter email overload with Priority Inbox feature
Google has done a remarkable job of filtering out spam and keeping inboxes clean for Gmail users over the last few years. But even with that annoyance taken care of, those who rely heavily on email for work or personal communications are often flooded with an uncontrollable sea of messages that aren't outright junk but they aren't very important either. To help deal with this problem Google plans to begin rolling out a new feature for Gmail users designed to automatically rearrange messages in their inbox so that the most important and pressing stuff appears on top.

Alleged Radeon HD 6800 benchmarks leaked
Following last week's leaked list of codenames for AMD's Radeon HD 6000-series graphics chips, a user on Chinese-speaking forum PCInLife has shared what he claims are benchmark results for one of these still-unannounced products. The posting includes a 3DMark Vantage and GPU-Z screenshot, with the first showing an overall score of 11,963. That's above what the Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 can produce, and not far from the dual-GPU Radeon HD 5970, which suggests AMD has managed a major speed improvement with the same 40nm manufacturing process it currently uses.

Google plans pay-per-view YouTube movie service
Google has been working hard to expand YouTube's content beyond user-submitted videos and turn the site into a revenue-generating venture. Over the years the company has signed a few deals that have helped it avoid further lawsuits and brought some professionally produced (yet not quite popular) content to the table. But Google's plans are apparently far more ambitious, and after launching its somewhat limited movie rental service earlier this year, negotiations are underway with "leading" Hollywood studios for a wide selection of their latest and catalog movie offerings.
