We’ve mentioned several times that ViewSonic simply refuses to enter the cosmetic race long dominated by Korean manufacturers, namely Samsung and LG. VX2739 has brought certain design novelties nevertheless, albeit almost unnoticeable compared to the aforementioned manufacturers’ latest. We have to salute dumping the ancient OSD menu, although the navigation system, which is hardly our favourite, has remained. We aren’t too fond of barely marked buttons on the right side either, as is the case with this model.

Quanta to produce next-gen MacBook Air
Apple's rumored next-gen ultra-thin MacBook Air, which is supposed to have a 11.6-inch display as opposed to 13.3-inch on the current model, is said to be made by Taiwan-based manufacturer Quanta Computer, with production set to start later this year.

Another HP Slate review reveals HDMI dock
The same source that leaked a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0IiKaa8v9M) of the prototype of the HP Slate has posted a second video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1iZDEk4qBQ) of the enterprise edition in action. The full specs of the 8.9-inch tablet are detailed and show the componentary from a typical netbook, including a single core Intel Atom Z540, clocked at 1.86GHz, 2GB of DDR2 RAM and a 64GB Solid State Flash Module. The integrated GMA 500 graphic chip is, however, enhanced by a Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator. It also includes a 3 megapixel rear-facing camera, in addition to a front facing camera, much like the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Tab.

HBO prepares 3D channel next year
According to multiple sources, HBO is set to launch a 3D on-demand channel in the Q1 2011. HBO has not officially announced the channel, but a service spokesperson confirmed the plans. Furthermore, the channel will launch with a world premiere of a 3D version of the blockbuster Inception, however Warner Bros. says there are still no plans for an Inception 3D conversion.
