Apple ships new LED Cinema Display
Announced back in July, Apple's now mercury-free 27-inch LED Cinema Display has now begun shipping. As a quick remember, this model has an in-plane switching (IPS) panel with a native screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and an LED backlight.

PowerDVD 10 now supports 3D video on GeForce cards
CyberLink released a new update for its PowerDVD 10 playback software which enables owners of the latest GeForce cards to enjoy a better 3D experience. The main additions to PowerDVD are that of Full HD 3D video output via a HDMI 1.4 connection, and full-quality Blu-ray audio bitstreaming.

Intel charges $50 for a CPU unlocking card
Intel is again into shoddy stuff, since it's asking customers to pay extra if they want the full power of their store-bought silicon. Engadget's reader was surfing the Best Buy shelves when he noticed Intel's $50 card that lets you download software to unlock extra threads and cache on the new Pentium G6951 processor. Website Hardware.info got their hands on an early sample of the chip and discovered it's actually a full 1MB of L3 cache that's enabled plus HyperThreading support, which translates to a modest upgrade, considering the price.

Intel displays overclocked Sandy Bridge at 4.9GHz
Intel has presented at the IDF the overclocking potential of its upcoming Sandy Bridge processor. The sample in question was a K-series part, with an unlocked multiplier and Intel managed to push it all the way to 4.9GHz on air cooling. However, Intel did not disclose the stock clock of the processor used in the demo.

HP releases another 1080p pocket camcorder
HP quietly slipped out another model in its newer pocket camcorder range. The V5020u shoots at the same 1080p as earlier models but appears to add gyroscope-based image stabilization to get a sharper image. The screen is smaller at two inches, but it can snap five-megapixel still images.

Mortal Kombat developer says Sony PSP2 is pretty powerfull
Despite their best efforts to hide the existence of the handheld, Mortal Kombat's executive producer Shaun Himmerick has recently said that the company has a PSP2 in the house. Himmerick had been asked if the developer was creating a game for the PSP or for the 3DS, or both. We're not launching day one on all consoles like that. We are looking at them; we have a PSP2 in the house and we're looking at the engine, like what can it support .
