Linux Kernel Exploit Wreaking Havoc
This isn't good at all. If you are a Linux user, I recommend you read this as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone that sent this one in. This vulnerability was introduced into the Linux kernel in April 2008, and so essentially every distribution is affected, including RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, OpenVZ, CloudLinux, and SuSE, among others. A few vendors have released kernels that fix the vulnerability if you reboot, but other vendors, including Red Hat, are still working on releasing an updated kernel. Comments

No One Plays Shooters on The PC Anymore
I am a fan of the 360 and I am looking forward to Microsoft's Kinect but quotes like this are seriously just fantasy land. Thanks to Gerard for the link. Halo did an awesome job of building a first-person shooter exclusively for the console, and now hardly anyone plays first person shooters on the PC anymore. It's all about the console. And I feel it is the same with Kinect stuff. Comments

Sony Responds to 'Other OS' Lawsuit
According to IGN, Sony has filed a motion to dismiss that 'Other OS' class action lawsuit. I am not a lawyer or legal expert so I have no idea whether this motion will be successful or not. Your thoughts? "These contracts specifically provide PS3 purchasers with a license, not an ownership interest, in the software and in the use of the PSN, and provide that SCEA has the right to disable or alter software features or terminate or limit access to the PSN, including by issuing firmware updates," the motion reads. "Plaintiffs therefore cannot succeed in any of their claims because SCEA's alleged alteration/disablement of PS3 features including the Other OS, was entirely proper and authorized." Comments
