"Social Network" Movie Script Posted Online
The 'Facebook' movie script has found itself on the internet. Somehow this always seems to happen just prior to release of what could become big box office. My guess would be publicity, pure and simple. Read those pages for yourself and you'll get a sense very quickly that this film is not going to be kind toward Mark Zuckerberg, the face of Facebook and whom the fictional Mark in the movie is based on. The official wide release date is Oct.1, with a New York premiere Sept.24. The film is based on the book, "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal" by Ben Mezrich. Comments

Oakley Announces Plans to Make Stylish 3-D Glasses
It looks like whether we like it or not, 3-D technology will be creeping into out lives. Unless something spectacular happens really soon, we will all be sporting those goofy glasses around the house and in movie theaters. If we have to wear them in the interim of newer technology, might as well look good doing it. The glasses will reportedly combine Oakley's world renowned styling with what it's referring to as HDO-3D or High Definition Optics technology. Little was revealed about the technology but it is known is that during research and development phase the company collaborated with DreamWorks using their testing facilities to perfect the glasses. Did Apple Pull the Plug on iPad App Ad?
One day there is an amusing app advertisement and the next day, poof, it's gone. Word is Apple wasn't pleased with the breaking glass scenario and pulled the plug on Newsday with a cease and desist order. If Apple did pull the plug, all I can say is grow a sense of humor Steve, it was a funny advertisement. Comments

Windows XP: Is It Time to Move On?
XP is arguably one of the best operating systems ever to come out of Microsoft. There is no wonder why many would like to hold onto XP forever, but unfortunately technology stands still for no one. Many feel Microsoft is going to regret not including IE9 for XP in the long run. If Microsoft was just arbitrarily choosing to lock out XP users for no real reason, I'd be the first to object. But this isn't the case here. Microsoft wants to add hardware acceleration to the browser, and to do that it has chosen to use Direct2D APIs, something that isn't available on XP. Comments

Apple TV Selling Itself Short?
Apple TV is having a problem enlisting the support of Warner Bros, due to being too 'cheap'. Apple set its rate at $.99 per TV show, a figure not comfortable for Warner. "We think the rest of the studios will see the light and get on board pretty fast," Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs said during his keynote address earlier this month. Comments

...And Wireless for All
Worldwide Wireless subscriptions will reach 5 billion this year, serving almost 74% of the Earth's entire population. Some regions of the world still are having problems getting connected like the underdeveloped countries in Africa and the Middle East. "Wireless communication now has spread to every nation, every age and every income level, becoming a basic staple like food, clothing and shelter. "Wireless now represents the biggest stage that any technology market has ever played on, offering unlimited opportunities for members of the mobile communications supply chain" Comments

USB 3.0 to Begin Hitting Critical Mass in 2011
It's looking like the adaption of USB 3 may be hitting its stride in the next year. According to USB-IF President Jeff Ravencraft, the new standard will be ten times faster that the present USB 2. The new standard is allowing OEMs to manufacture a fresh wave of devices that take advantage of SuperSpeed\'s minimized wait time and optimized power efficiency. I would also like to note that USB 3.0 uses only 1/3 of the power compared to USB 2 - and of course, the standard is fully backwards compatible. Comments

James Cameron Heads for Mariana Trench to Film Avatar Sequel
James Cameron is not one to rest on his laurels for very long. Cameron is aiming his sights on going down to the 36,000' deep Mariana Trench, winning the $10 million dollar X prize and, oh yeah, film some scenes for Avatar 2 while he's down there. Attempting such a feat would hardly be a first for the director, who has waded into deep waters several times on behalf of his films, including "Titanic" and "Aliens of the Deep." The "Avatar" sequel will reportedly be set in the fictional oceans of Pandora. Comments

Expensive Gadgets You Shouldn't Buy
This is a no brainer. Who really needs a $3.02 million dollar iPhone, unless the gold serves as an antenna? Call me cheap, but I'll just take the earbuds for $3499, Alex. Comments
