vr-zone.com - The poster behind most of the Northern Islands series leaks, including pictures of Barts XT, Napoleon of Chiphell, has revealed rough performance details for both Barts cards. Both cards are ready and running, with the Barts XT outperforming Radeon HD 5850 and Barts PRO outperforming GTX 460 (presumably 1GB version). These are both significant improvements over the existing HD 5770 series and effectively provides a higher class of performance.

Rumour: AMD Radeon HD 6870 in November
vr-zone.com - AMD's first Radeon HD 6000 series release is widely expected to be the Radeon HD 6700 series (codename Barts) in October. The next card to release will be Cayman XT, to be branded Radeon HD 6870. SemiAccurate reports that the 6870 is on track for a release in November. The Cayman cards will be shipped to OEMs at the same time as the HD 6700's release. This puts the 6870 release in the mid to late November timeframe, right on schedule for Black Friday.

[Rumour] AMD prepares two Fusion Zacate APUs for Desktops
vr-zone.com - Despite being only months away from shipping to OEMs, the branding of Zacate and Ontario have been a well-guarded secret. AMD continues to refer to both by their codenames. Xbitlabs now reports the first likely branding for Zacate desktop APUs. Designed for nettops, low power desktops/HTPCs, thin client systems and maybe embedded systems, Zacate will release in two variants - single and dual core - branded AMD Fusion E240 and AMD Fusion E350 respectively. The Zacate APUs will be part of the Brazos platform, coming in BGA FT1 packages and soldered to the motherboard. The platform is expected to release in early 2011, while OEMs receive the same in Q4 2010.

[Rumour] AMD 8-core Orochi Bulldozer to feature 16MB cache
vr-zone.com - Xbitlabs have seen a document which reveals the cache structure of AMD's next-gen Bulldozer architecture. The document relates to Orochi - featuring four Bulldozer modules, or eight physical cores. Each module contains 2MB L2 cache shared between the two cores. 8MB L3 cache will be shared amongst all four modules. The total cache in the Bulldozer eight-core CPU is thus 16MB, compared to 9MB for Phenom II X6 CPUs. That is a 77% increase in cache despite only a 33% increase in core count.

[Rumour] AMD prepares new Phenom II X6 flagship
vr-zone.com - Despite AMD's recent refresh, the Phenom II X6 1090T continues to be AMD's flagship CPU. Not for long, however, claims Xbitlabs. AMD is reportedly preparing Phenom II X6 1100T. While it retains the 1090T's 125W TDP, it offers a slight boost at best. Both stock and turbo speeds are increased by 100 MHz to 3.3 GHz and 3.7 GHz respectively. The 1100T is set to release in Q4 2010, but it won't be the only new Phenom II CPU.
