Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 SLI Performance Review
When wrapping up our initial GeForce GTX 460 coverage on launch day we mentioned the interesting thought of running two 1GB cards in SLI which would cost a whisker less than $500. This matches the price of a single GeForce GTX 480 that on paper would appear to be the slower alternative.

Alien Swarm gets "brutal" difficulty, updated AI Director, more
If you've played Alien Swarm you can probably agree that it's a fantastically polished game (especially for free), but it's nonetheless repetitive and can be a bit easy. In fact, Valve says the most requested additions are more variety as well as greater difficulty, and it's tried to answer that feedback with a new update.

Toshiba's SmartPad gets pictured, possibly due next month
First seen last month, more shots of Toshiba's upcoming "SmartPad" tablet have been released, showing an iPad-esque design. While not as aesthetically unique as the dual-screen clamshell Libretto W100, the SmartPad still looks pretty slick. The 10-inch slate uses Nvidia's Tegra 2 SoC, which should pack enough punch to run 3D games and HD video. Valve: Steam for Linux isn't being developed
Evidence of a Linux Steam client surfaces every few months, sprinkling hope throughout the neglected penguin gaming community. A pending Linux release seems plausible because Steam was recently brought to Mac OS X, but the developer's lips have been sealed until now. In a recent sit-down with GameIndustry.biz, Valve marketing VP Doug Lombardi commented on the hearsay.

Intel releases first dual-core Atom for netbooks, the N550
Intel's first dual-core Atom processor for netbooks, the N550, is about to hit store shelves inside a number of netbooks. The new chip brings a much needed breath of fresh air to a market that has seen impressive growth over the last couple of years but not much action on the hardware specs front. Though the N550 clocks in lower than most Atom chips, at 1.5GHZ, Intel says the extra core plus twice the cache (1MB) should make up for a more "responsive" experience.
