It's a cold hard fact of life: we can't all be winners. No matter how fun or unique a video game may be, the reality is, there's a chance it's destined for the eternal void that is Best Buy's bargain bin. Those odds increase substantially if the title isn't backed with media hype or the marketing budget of a multi-billion dollar publishing conglomerate. Even then, undeservingly harsh critics can steer consumers in the wrong direction. And sometimes, by the mysterious workings of an unjust universe, awesome games just slip between the cracks.

Apple looking to identify iOS users via heartbeat, more
Apple has applied for a patent on a method to differentiate between users of an iOS device. Titled "Systems and Methods for Identifying Unathorized Users of an Electronic Device," the patent describes various ways a device could recognize users, including voice print and heartbeat analysis, facial recognition, and even some form of detection system for "suspicious behavior" (read: jailbreaking, unlocking, hacking, or removing a SIM card).

Leaked Office 15 screenshots and details emerge
It's been roughly two months since Microsoft Office 2010 made its debut in stores but it seems work on its successor is already underway. Not much is known about the next Office productivity suite, naturally, since it's still in a very early development stage. However, Russian website Wzor is offering 'proof' that the software does exists by posting what appears to be pre-alpha builds of Office 15 available internally in Redmond.
