Dragon Age 2 Dated
Dragon Age 2 has finally gotten a release date after the game was announced last month. Dragon Age 2, the sequel to the popular Dragon Age: Origins, will be launching on March 8th, 2011 in North America and March 11th in Europe. The game is a slight departure from the original in that your character's race is already determined for you though you are free to choose your class, gender, and appearance to help make the character yours. Like I said, the race is already determined and BioWare has set that in stone as human. The game is told in a series of flashbacks in which you control the action and the events to end up exactly how you wish. The game is set over the course of a decade which will see your character, known as Hawke, rise from a refugee to the champion of a realm. The combat system is getting an overhaul, as is your character AI to help make them more useful in a fight. Hawke will be fully voiced which is another departure from the first game, but should help to better connect players with the main character. The dialogue system is similar to the one used in Mass Effect, but without a moral guidance. All in all, the more I hear about the game the more I want to play it, especially after watching the new trailer below. Next March cannot get here fast enough.

Android Game App Contains Trojan Experts Say
Security experts from Symantec and F-Secure have issued warnings concerning the Android gaming application called Tap Snake. According to researchers, the application is more than meets the eye. Besides being a free snake game reminiscent of 1970s era video game, the application can also act as a client for the GPS Spy commercial spying program. The tip off is that the app attempts to access GPS services on the phone and will run unnoticed in the background even if the user tries to disable the game.
In order for the spying capabilities to work, a individual would have to register an email address and key and then gain physical access to the device running Tap Snake in order to set up the game's spying features. Once this happens, Tap Snake will phone home and report its location every 15 minutes to a server running on the free Google AppEngine service.
Tap Snake earns a Trojan rating from these security companies due to the fact it is not up front about its spying capabilities. Fortunately, the risk to users is fairly low as some one need physical access to the target device in order to enable spying. Another good reason to set a password lock on your mobile device.

Sony Launches New Gaming Headsets
Sony believes that the key to dominating any video game is having the right audio to better find your enemies. That is why Sony is getting ready to launch a couple of new headsets that are designed squarely with gaming in mind. These headsets will be part of the Ultimate Weapon series and will feature two models, the DR-GA500 and DR-GA200. The GA500 comes with a separate box that will turn the audio pumping into the headset into 7.1 surround sound courtesy of a Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoder. That will work in combination with Sony Virtual Phones Technology to create a lifelike 7.1 surround sound to help you locate your enemies in any game you are playing. The GA200 model is similar just it doesn't have the extra audio processing to get the 7.1 surround sound, so if you want that feature then the GA500 is the one to get. Both headsets use a 40mm driver to deliver the audio, have a microphone to communicate with your buddies, and Sony's "triple enfolding" technology for an extremely comfortable fit.
No word on pricing or availability was announced at this time but Sony did say that starting in mid-October, these headsets would come with a copy of the latest Medal of Honor game.
