Lian Li Launches Mini Q PC-V354 Case
Lian Li is getting set to launch its newest case, the Mini Q PC-V354, which Lian Li calls a mini tower case. The case is ideal for users short on space or who simply just want a small case for an HTPC or even a LAN rig. It measures in at 245 x 320 x 420mm and weighs 4.17 kilograms which makes it quite small in stature. The Mini Q PC-V354 features one external 5.25" bay and seven internal 3.5" bays which can also support 2.5" drives. The internal cages feature anti-vibration kits and are also modular, most likely to be removed to allow for larger video cards. Speaking of video cards, the case supports ones up to 350mm in length which should be enough for almost any card on the market, even the ATI HD 5970. The front of the case features an I/O panel with two USB 3.0 ports, audio connectors, and even an integrated SD card reader. Cooling the case are two front mounted 120mm fans and a top mounted 140mm fan. Since the case is on the small side, only micro-ATX, mini-ITX, and mini-DTX motherboards will fit inside.
The Lian Li Mini Q PC-V354 case will be available in red, black, and silver colors at the end of August. The silver and black cases will cost $179.99 while the red case comes in at $199.99.

Apple Plugs iOS PDF Security Hole
Earlier this week Apple released updates to iOS 3 and iOS 4 which address a major security flaw in the mobile operating system's PDF viewer. The security vulnerability allowed users to Jailbreak their devices using a website, however the same hole could be exploited by malicious websites to compromise the device, steal data, and install malicious third party apps without the users knowledge.
iOS 4.0.2 resolves the issue on the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 as well as the 2nd and 3rd generation iPod Touch devices. Likewise, iOS 3.2.2 plugs the hole for the iPad which has yet to receive the iOS 4 upgrade. Unfortunately users with a first generation iPhone or iPod Touch remain vulnerable to the exploit and since they are unsupported devices are unlikely to see an official patch from Apple. The good, if not somewhat ironic, news is that users with the 1st generation devices can fix the issue once they are jailbroken.
