New Intel Core processors on the horizon
Intel has slashed the price of its high-end Core i7 950 processor from $562 to $294 and it has also added several new processors to its pricelist. The most interesting new model is the Core i3 560. It’s clocked at 3.33GHz and it costs the same as a 550, which runs at 3.2GHz, so if you were considering buying a Core i3, you should wait for the new one to show up in stores.

YouTube considers worldwide paid movie service
An inside news tip has hinted that Google plans to significantly expand its YouTube movie rentals to a full-fledged, worldwide service. The talks are underway for a service that would stream major movie releases and which would be tied into both Google's search engine and YouTube. Movies would cost $5 to rent and would be available at the same time as on Blu-ray, DVD and Internet services. The company is reportedly aiming for an end-of-year unveiling. It would launch in the US first, but it would eventually spread to other countries.

ATI brand is no more
AMD has officially killed the ATI logo and the textbook merger is now complete. The reason behind this move is quite simple as AMD wants to make the brand as simple as possible and most of the average consumers simply don't know that there is no difference between AMD and ATI and that ATI simply became a brand rather than a company. AMD wants to promote its Fusion and AMD made ATI Radeon graphics really isn't simple for an average consumer. The decision is a simple marketing move and honestly we do understand AMD, but that doesn't mean that we wouldn't rather see an ATI logo.

Toshiba Folio 100 tablet will use Android 2.2
Website Notebook Italia has leaked the specs for the upcoming Toshiba Folio 100, which many had been calling the SmartPad . The tablet should be the first true competitor to the Apple iPad as it packs some powerful features. Toshiba's Folio 100 will have a 10.1-inch widescreen WSVGA display, run Android 2.2 Froyo, work on a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and include 16GB of internal memory.
