Sanyo's Xacti VPC-PD2BK Pocket Camcorder Captures 1080p And 10MP Images
Pocket camcorders have come a long way. They started out almost entirely made from one single company, Pure Digital, and the Flip branding has now bled over into a generic term for a camcorder that fits in your pocket. Today, the world has a lot more options to choose from, including a new one from Sanyo. The company is expanding their long running Xacti lineup with a new 1080p model with a 3x optical zoom, proving that you don't need something huge to capture Full HD. The new VPC-PD2BK captures 1920x1080 at

Polaroid Now Making 3D Glasses: Who Woulda Thunk It?
Wow, what a difference a few years makes. It wasn't too long ago that Polaroid was cranking out camera after camera meant to show images just moments after they were shot. A downfall and ownership change later, and now the namesake is latching onto a bandwagon rather than starting one of their own. 3D is obviously all the rage these days, and while some people still don't get the allure, there's no doubt that the buzz is bringing in money from somewhere. Polaroid Eyewear has just announced that they'll be launching

Impossible network problem
Hi, I've been having trouble connecting to the internet on one of my older computers for a while and I need some help. It's the only computer on my network of 3 (run through a 3COM OfficeConnect Router model: 3CR858-91) that can't connect to the internet. I've tried messing with dynamic and static IP addresses, checking all my cables and my network card (they all work), and pinging websites brings back a positive response.  Every browser i use though doesn't display anything, like they can't even connect to the web (Firefox just has an "Untitled" as the page name and nothing comes up). I don't know what to do at this point and I need a second opinion on what to do. Thanks.

Ricoh Introduces CX4 10MP Shooter
We've seen camera announcements from Nikon and Canon within the last week, and now it's Ricoh's turn. The new CX4 is a 10 megapixel camera with a rear-illuminated CMOS sensor. The Ricoh CX4 is a successor to the CX3. Like its predecessor, the CX4 has a wide-angle lens with a 10.7x optical zoom lens, f/3.5-5.6 brightness, and a 3-inch LCD with a resolution of 920,000 dots.
Two of the CX4's key distinguishing points are its improved image stabilization matrix and subject-tracking autofocus. The CX4's 28-300mm lens has an image sensor-shift stabilization feature that is said to reduce blur by an average of 3.7 shutter speed stops (which is about three times faster than the CX3). Other noteworthy features of this camera include creative filters and a Night landscape multi-shot mode.
The CX4 is capable of capturing HD video (1280 x 720 pixels). It also supports a burst shooting rate of 5 frames per second. For macro photography enthusiasts, the CX4 can capture images as close as 1cm.
The CX4 is scheduled to be available in September. It's currently available for preorder from Amazon for $399 and is available in black, silver, or pink.

LG Confirms Plans To Use Tegra Chip
Earlier this week, LG Electronics confirmed plans to use a dual-core processor from NVIDIA in its line of Optimus smartphones. This is a big win for NVIDIA, which has been working hard to expand beyond graphics chips for PCs and enter the smartphone market with its Tegra chip.
To date, we haven't seen many noteworthy smartphones use the Tegra chip. Instead, many devices such as HTC’s Incredible and EVO use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor or Samsung's Hummingbird chip which is used in the company's own Galaxy S line of smartphones. Microsoft's Kin line used the Tegra chip, but since the Kin line failed so quickly, we think it's safe to say the Tegra chip didn't get the attention NVIDIA was hoping for from the Kin line.
NVIDIA isn't the only company to offer a dual-core chip for smartphones. Qualcomm has also mentioned plans for its own dual-core Snapdragon chip. NVIDIA hopes to have several smartphones and smartbooks (a hybrid between a netbook and a smartphone) using its Tegra chip by the end of the year.
